A very good chapter. So many emotions were included- family love (between the siblings), anger (Mr Terreboone's sister), frustration- the family struggles, determination- Marie was going to help the family, she was going to find a way, pride-a way for the bayou people. Good writing, good reading, good job, thank you.

G'day Jo. I remember the name of that show at 2am lol. "Swamp people' it was a great series and made me want to visit.

"the yellow trumpet Jessamine's which the old people still used to treat measles, tonsillitis, and headaches." ( I love that. That's how it was in the tribe and that's how it is here in the Philippines to this day. I swear by it.)

"Sally and her old yellow dog, Yeller, " (Hahaha! What else?)

I get the feeling i have read this before. Did you post this last year? Doesn't matter it just sounds familiar.

"She was excited about leaving and scared." ( I bet. Brave girl.)

This is riveting story telling mate. I love the accents, that's hard work.

Another very well written chapter. Congrats.

Cheers Fez

Nicely written story Jo, very touching sadness within this story, this dear selfless girl, decides to send money home to her mamma by obtaining work in New Orleans, to make life easier for her mamma and offspring. I seem to remember reading something similar in a similar setting sometime ago. Well done, excellent, quirky characters and great story structure, the ongoing story would be a great read, well done, my friend, blessings, Roy
Typo :: "and send som(e) money home to keep you." 2: "I hav(e) you something to eat fer later."

Excellent. This is very well-written. The southern dialect is portrayed in a nice manner. This should turn into a great novel. I wish you the best of luck.

This is an entertaining chapter which draws the reader into the characters' world. The setting is thoughtfully created and the dialogue is authentic. The reader can empathise with the characters' situation and the plot unravels in a way that feels logical and natural. Thanks for sharing.

Is that true that there are places one can't be buried even if part of that faith? I so much enjoy how you write with the southern lingo as written. Great chaptering Hun.

Yes. it is true. A person can be deemed unfit to be buried in a sacred cemetery. At least that is what my research
turned up. I'm not Catholic myself. I'm glad you are enjoying my story.

Oh My Goodness. That child thinks she can take care of herself but she has no idea how wicked the world can be. No idea. This
story has my full attention Jo. I can hardly wait to see how she manages life in the big city. xx Nancy

(Smiling) Nancy, I'm so glad I have got your attention and that you are enjoying my story. The plot will thicken. Marie will
go through a lot before the story ends.
