Family reunions, you feel guilty if you go and if you don't go. It is good to reconnect, but sometime you pay a price for it so no wonder the indecision. To go or not ...

You put the feeling we all have into perspective. Excellent job.

Hello,

Astral connection? That happens to me all the time with my children, exhusband, and boyfriend. They must be on my grid. I find that very interesting.

Great story about your family. I have a very small family and I often wonder what it would be like to have one.

Good job sweetie pie.

May you have LOve and laughter in your life.
Gypsy

Appreciate your comment on the astral connection. It goes to prove we all have psychic powers to some degree. A more acceptable name for it is spiritual awareness. I'm taking a class to develop my own. Plan to share my experiences with FS.

Wow, Shari. There's nothing like family, huh? Love 'em, hate 'em, whatever -- and say what you will about 'em -- but nobody ELSE better talk ill of them! *smile* Funny thing, that. For all their irritations, they ARE family and they're the only one we have. Gotta love 'em! *smile* Nice chapter!

Blood is suppose to be thicker than water. Anyway, who knows when you might need a kidney? Hopefully a relative would be a match. Thanks for the review, my chirpy robin. :-)

Those family reunions always come with issues. They're repressing in my family, because so many relatives have passed away. Some nieces and nephews remaining, and lots of cousins, but I usually don't keep in very close contact with them. Anne sounds interesting. Maybe it's because of the bed and breakfast thing. Know what you mean by that tech talk. My brother-in-law is famous for it. I could see why you wouldn't want Frank driving to the reunion, especially after his fall. Will this reunion possibly come off smoothly? judi

Everyone seems so conventional in my extended family. I can't talk about ghosts or spirits or paranormal experiences. What else is there? LOL
Next chapter - another one bites the dust. Sigh....

Ghosts and spirits are always interesting, whether you believe in them or not. judi

G'day Shari. Beautifully done chapter on your large and different family, mate

"Anne and her brood (four sons, six grandchildren) plus Cousin Edward and Cousin Judy (my mother's brother's children) and their three children, we had enough for a party. " (Crikey, just about matches my mob lol.)

"To this day, he can only guess from two photos the identity of his father, a man who dated his mother for years, but died of pneumonia before ever seeing his son." (Sad stuff.)

"It's a dull language that generates geek passion only." (Yep.)

" Could this be the anger and paranoia I'd been dealing with off and on through the years?" (Good question.)

Glad I'm back to follow along. This is interesting stuff.

Cheers Fez

This was a solid read and I found myself wanting to take notes on the characters involved as there are so many :) I enjoyed your almost bullet like effect in disseminating this story which kept the reader engaged all the way through. Families are challenging at times, but they are hard to shake if one is deeply rooted. Exellent writing; a few minor glitches needed:

mention Jill had two daughters and two grandhildren as well? -> grandchildren

from the grandchildren in Sacramento, Califonia; -> California

Thanks for catching my typos, Mary. Not much happening in here, but for the sake of history, I wanted to pass on information about how far apart the family had grown in distance and interests.

Families should be chosen, not given--I've disowned mine and Fanstory and a few others are my family now. Well written, my friend~Debbie

It's weird. Metaphysical belief is that we choose not only our gender and name but our families too. If so, I chose wisely according to other bios I've read. :-)

This continues to be a fascinating story. I wonder if anyone will every get together again. I know my family and I won't. I haven't seen my sisters, daughters, or granddaughters since 2004 and doubt anything could take place to change that. I look forward to the next chapter. Keep up the great work.

Thanks, Sasha. There may be too much ill will among relatives to bond together even with the wisdom that age brings.

Your writing is able to hold one's interest as the family dynamics unfold. I feel sorry that Frank had so little connection to his side of the family. Anne sounds like someone who likes a challenge despite her handicaps. It is hard to have family reunions today as people move to other areas of the country. In my own family, my sister lives in Washington State and my half sister in Oklahoma. My one daughter lives near me, the other in CT. My husband's 2 sons, one in PA and the other in TN.
And all our cousin spread across the country. Good luck having a family reunion.
Keep writing, I enjoy your writing.

I thought it was time to give Anne some credit as I near the end of my saga. (Of course, there will be updates from time to time)
Your family sounds like mine. I have a son who lives fifty miles away. And Bobby was still in the picture at this time. More on that in the next write.
