This is another very cute poem about Wally and his mall trip. It was so full of great descriptive wording. I can see him spraying perfume on himself. very good job. hugs, Teri

Your poem reminds me when I was little and the rare opportunity to ride an esculator.

If you think it was a rarity when you were young, can you imagine seeing one for the first time back when I was young?
Also, I remember back in the 40s when the salesclerk would send the money to the office in a pneumatic tube. Now, they've brought that all back, at least at the banks.

I'm glad Wally made you smile. Thank you, my friend. 8-)

Absolutely adorable children's poem (suitable for an adult, like me! lol)! Really very much enjoyed the storyline of the poem and the ease in which it read. Great flow, rhythm, rhyme and meter. Breaking the lines did nothing to the quality of the work itself..actually made it an even smoother read. Great job. God bless and hugs, Susanne

This is great to see Wally get out to the mall. To experience the stores, the people and that escalator. Scary the first time, but once on it, you never want to use the stairs. Glad he ran into Willy which makes for a better time at the mall.

A very entertaining and well flowing piece of poetry.

Have a great day my friend,,,,,,Jim

Delightfully natural storytelling which sounds splendid when read aloud, so the meter must be just about spot-on. I have seen just that same transition from apprehension to delight on escalators. My favorite part of your poem!

Escalators can be tricky, even for us old folks. I so happy you like this. Thank you for your lovely comments. 8-)

Written in mixed iambic meter for the most part, and in rhyming couplets, this flows well once shopping gets under way. Kids will enjoy this because most of them find escalators fun. I know I did. They are luckier today as there are far more of them than there were back in the 1940s and 50s when I was small.

You're right - there were more of them back then, and they were a novelty. I can remember the first one I saw.

You said, "once shopping gets under way." Do I need to work on the first part?

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I appreciate it. 8-)

The meter settles down after that. I am not sure whether you do need to adjust it it though.

An Enjoyable poem which I feel that children will love to hear and hopefully read for themselves. It has the essence pf fun and I think children will understand the excitement of going shopping in the Mall for the first time.

A very well-written Wally story that goes to the Mall for a few things he needs. The first time on an escalator can be very scary, it seems the thing wants to swallow you.

    Thank you so much.

Escalators are the rarity they were when I was growing up. Children seem to take it all in stride. I guess because they've seen them so long before they're able to ride without being held.

I appreciate your comments and stars. Thank you. 8-)

Yes, the mall has been the venue of the modern man for relaxation, hanging out and meeting friends. It is like a one stop shop where everything is available from goods to different services. You explored that theme effectively in your poem.
