Just a little meter stepping out of line in:

you could just write
was taken 'way and that would fix that extra syllable right up.
Boy TB was such a horrible disease. Still is.
Super job with this. I almost gave up as I had no idea where to start when it finally hit me that a father is a fairy tale to me.

You're right. Done. Thanks very much for reading and reviewing. Our neighbor bought the truck from dad, and kept it rolling for fifty years...dad was in that VA hospital half of the year 1949. We invented poor.

A very well-written minute poem. I am sorry that your dad was sick and you and your mom had to go through life without him. My father died in 2001, I was 42 years at that stage.

My dad was in Lawson General VA hospital for six months, while new drugs like streptomycin cured his TB. He lost everything but his wife and kid...
