Aw, sandra. How sweet. It's her first day of school and she has to leave her best friend at home. I felt the tears and question in the little girl's voice. She doesn't understand what school is and in a way she is leaving her childhood behind to begin a new world full of new friends. She lays her childhood on the bed but will never forget it.
Wonderful symbolism in this piece.
Melodic reading.
Touching.

It's such a poignant story. One every child goes through be it with a dolly or a truck. I really did relate to it, recalling my two little ones growing up.

Oh, Sandra! This is very sweet :) My grandkids are attached to their bears. Keaton can't sleep without his at night. Mason is now trying to not take Teddy with him everywhere. You touched my heart with this because I know how hard it must be for thhis little girl to leave her Dolly at home while she goes to school. Well done.

My sons were like that, Joy. My eldest couldn't sleep without his teddy, and my youngest had a long snake! He wanted it to be dressed, so we bought woolly scarves and opened one end and put his snake inside. He was happy, lol!! There teddies and dolls are their first 'friends' so I can understand the attachment. Thank you so much for the lovely review, my friend. xsx Sandra

Sandra, what a sweet poem. I'm glad she was just going to school
and that's why she couldn't take her precious dolly with her.
Great job on this picture challenge. I may have to think of doing this
sometime.

It really stretches the imagination, Judy. I will be reading what the others have written, it's amazing what different ideas we get from the same picture. I'm so pleased you enjoyed my take on this one. Thank you, Judy. Have a word with Jax if you want to join in. :) xsx Sandra

Very nicely done, Sandra. I can see this conversation really happening. I really wasn't able to come up with anything for this picture, so I am impressed with your interpretation.

Thank you, Douglas. I think it's probably easier for a female to come up with something regarding a doll. Perhaps you could imagine it as a boy with a toy soldier?? LOL. Thanks again, my friend. xsx Sandra

Oh I love this one. I only read one other and I was so sad so I needed this little tweek at the end for a pick me up.
I am so glad you ended it this way. I love the piece and the part about the ice cream. It makes everything okay, doesn't it?

Thank you, Barb. It could only be a nice ending, I remember my favourite doll, and I would take her everywhere, but not to school. I still had her up to the age of 19, then she got lost when we moved house. I was so upset! lol. Thanks again, my friend. xsx Sandra
