Well, Sandra
I wuz expecting to be reading another segment in your story. It is refreshing to see you haven't forgotten the children now that you're doing the grown up stuff.
You have always had a knack at tugging a bit at the heart strings of parents...haven't you.

Jimmy

LOL! I will never stop writing for children, Jimmy, my grandchildren would have something to say about that! Thank you so much my friend for reading this one. I am in the middle of writing the next part, I was so delighted to see my story was nominated for the story of the month, I have to make sure I work up to the end of it with a bang! It will be on soon, and then I will do lots more children's poetry and see if I can write another story. :) Sandra xxxx

Hi Sandra. What a sweet poem. I enjoyed reading it so much, spoken from a little girl's point of view. Our dollies were our friends and companions way back when. I still have a few of my favorite dolls and wouldn't part with them. Marilyn

I had a favourite dolly and kept it for years, then it disappeared. I was so upset. Thank you, Marilyn, for reading my take on the picture, I so pleased you enjoyed it. xsx Sandra

It is a terrible wrench, even if it is only a few hours. That's an eternity to a five year old. You have caught the close attachment so well here and highlighted the different understanding of the world between the adult and the child.

A delightful poem that captures the sentiment expressed in the image quite well. You capture a child's heartache when she finds she can't take her doll to school with her. How touchingly sweet.

I was so sure something sad was going to happen to that little girl and then I got to the end. LOL. Such a cute ending. A very well-written poem.

I so enjoyed your dolly poem, Sandra. I was worried she had to leave for some awful reason, but her leaving with tears and sadness to go to school, made me smile. She loves her dolly so much and sure didn't want to leave her alone. Wonderful!
Smiles,
Karyn :-)

You girls are having a blast. That Jax has always got something going. LOL. I was thinking about one of my granddaughters and the way she cared for her doll. Good one, Sandy.

Hi, Ben, thank you so much. I think most little girls have a dolly they treasure and talk to, it's the mother instinct in us, lol. I hope you are doing well, my friend, I think of you a lot. God bless and keep you safe. Lots of love, Sandy xxx

Sandra, this was such an interesting read that kept me wandering why you couldn't take Dolly with you and that both your parents were in agreement. The ending is not only the answer of her going off to school but such a tender offering of sharing some ice cream together upon your return! Great poem!ð???

Thank you, Ginny, lol, I always 'shared' my ice cream with my dolly, that way I got extra by persuading my mother to put some up for my 'friend' lol. I'm so pleased you enjoyed my take on the picture. :) Sandra xxx

You have a special way of portraying the sweet moments, and I'm guessing it must be a kind heart shining through your words. Great job. :-)

I'm meaner than a junk-yard dog, with a hide thicker than Whit leather, and most people annoy the "You know what" out of me. You just happen to be on my good list. :-)
