Your poem is beautiful, I like the message of enjoying life and living to your life to full potential before death calls. The flow of the words read like a song, the rhyming is smooth. The poem is very well constructed with a good message. This is an enjoyable read, thanks for sharing.

A beautiful and elegant poem, describing how many people struggle to speak their emotions aloud, but often find it easier to impart their deepest feelings through a song, or poem. This makes me think of Sartre, and his existentialism which suggested that the legacy and essence of each person may be imparted, for longevity, through art. Loved this x

Beautiful poem, Tony! Rich and vibrant with deep thought. Love the message that "the present tense is gold" ... right on! We all should stop and take pleasure in what nature has to offer in the here and now, as tomorrow we may not be here. As you say in your concluding line "Enjoy your breath of air". :)

"And yet perhaps in reading me
you'll find a common bond
with one who valued solitude
beside the moonlit pond" ... very clever to bring the reader right into
your write!

Love the artwork too ... so very vibrant! A very fine poem, Tony!

Tony,
I enjoyed your well written poem. The meter is great the way it changes back & forth.

I was engaged throughout the reading. Your words have a great message of living in the here & now. How many live in the past or work only for future gain and miss so much of real life?

Your artwork is awesome. Good job on the rhyme & smooth flow of lines.

Thanks for sharing, Jan

You caught me on a melancholy day and you're writing made me smile. "Enjoy your breath of air" is exactly what I'm doing today! Thank you, fellow poet, for such an enjoyable piece where neither the rhyme nor rhythm is ever strained. The concept of the poem has, of course, been used; however, you always put your unique style and incredible use of our language on it.

Nice poem Tony. I love this stanza, it is so profound!
For life is in the blossoming,
the wise let it unfold
without much thought for future wealth.
The present tense is gold.
I love the image of life unfolding before us shining like gold. Wonderful image. Well done. Nancy

hello...take time to smell the coffee, make it and drink it in pleasure.
I am not one for people. Dogs, horses and nature, and the odd person filter through my life. I can talk to or see one person a day, and since I am still working or teaching, on the days I am off...like Greta Garbo, I want to be alone...
Still, those of us who like our own company and the words we read or write, we ar a solitary bunch, often only bound together by the odd comma, hyphen or semi colon:-)

It is hard for a person who has too much anguish to bear. Yours is a recipe for the enjoyment of nature's song and the means to enjoy it. Exquisite rhyme and message.

This little poem says so much...I love giving it to birds...I was raising a baby robin last week who began singing after dark and drew a cat's attention...so sad..but at least she sang a happy song ..Each of your verses has its own internal philosophy...good job!

Loved your review of The Requiem! Poor little robin! That reminded me so much of the old fable:
"Winter came and it was so cold that a bird froze and fell to the ground covered with snow. A cow came by and dropped some dung on the bird. The pile of cow dung warmed the bird and brought it back to life. It lay there all warm and happy, and soon began to sing for joy. A passing cat heard the bird singing took the bird out of the pile of cow dung, and ate it."
There's a moral there somewhere ...I think! LOL
