Thank you for your positive comments. Try saying "goes into" very quickly and you may get "gisinter"!

Great fun teaching of the eight times table, Daphne, and particularly clever play on words with, 'ate'.

'Gisinters' is a puzzle to me too, as I never heard of it.

I remember teaching my daughter the NINE times table, and when she became bored, I told her there was a trick to remember it, but it was 'cheating'. Her eyes lit up immediately, and she learned it in no time. :-)

I'm pleased you didn't 'give it a miss', as it gave me a big smile.

Cheers, Ray xx

Thanks Ray. It is a bit late for your daughter but how about
    Nine times nine
    Works out just fine
    Ad one to eighty
    To make it more weighty.
    Have a good weekend, Daphne

Well done!, I like the way your poem sounds when read out loud . Math today is taught in such a different way. I hardly understand any of it. Well written with subtle humor added. Very nice.

Thank you for your encouraging review. As a math teacher I often had to resort to rhymes and stories when dealing with the less academic pupils.

There is a humorous tone to this poem that involves the oft dreaded subject, math. The symbols in math are pretty clear cut, it's the answers that are expected from the math operations that can get tricky.

Thank you for your thoughtful review. Having been a math teacher across all standards, I did come across pupils who were even baffled by these symbols.

I can't help my grandson with his math let alone know anything about a BODMAS rules- of course. It's a good thing there are prompts for poems like the one above because to me the Jabberwocky by Louis Carroll makes more sense. On the other hand there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with this poem, I think- but then I'd have to know if what you say in the poem is true or not- so you get five by default.
