Love this little form. It's our challenge form for this Saturday. I was skeeeered of it. But it's pretty cool actually. You should stop by. Tom gave us our own thread, Challenges, since we were trampling all over the poetry thread. We're such a burden. :)) mikey

Ir's sad and disappointing what is going behind the curtains at FS. I come here not very often, I don't write often and i don't care a bit about my ratings. I come here to read good poetry, stories and essays, and extract some wisdom out of it. Who cares, dear friend, you have a loyal follower. I wish I could do more.

And you don't have any problem coming from me I'm always thought that you are a very imaginative artist and came out with things unpredictable and sometimes unprecedented but still beautiful artwork and sometimes great exceptional writing, like in this one. First you took something that was negative and meeting humorous and then somewhat sad.
- your writing was done very well in each of your rhyming words were not forced or labored which was helpful in making the reading clear.
- in each of your rhyming words were contingent and supported to the meaning and concept of each and all of your lines therefore making your rhythm to flow smoothly.
- the rhythmic metered style and format was as difficult as I read in your author's notes and you seem to handle it perfectly. The cadence, timing and tempo lawful in making the reading clear, fluid and very easy.
- the pictures absolutely appropriate, relative and supported to the conceptual theme of your writing.
- a very great piece of work Mikey and thank you for sharing and posting and may the Lord be with you always.

Gee, I'm a little speechless. What really lovely things to say. I'm so humbled and appreciative. Being top writer is no easy task and I don't think I have it in me to KILL myself to be it. LOL I know what it takes for the prose trophies and the thought of what it takes for poetry is terrifying. Jeesh. I miss our talks too. But that dude kept showing up. Remember him?
"Hey, what's going on here?"
"Ah, dude, we're discussing poetry. Duh."
"Yeah, but it's two in the morning. Isn't that a little strange?"

Those of us who are our own people have always had a tendency to draw attention, good or bad, which makes us out there and easily accessible. But, there always has been, and will be, the chicken shits who trash anyone willing to share their true, open and honest, thoughts and views. They aren't the first to have diarrhea of the mouth, and I'm sure they won't be the last. I'm sure they won't like everything we say or do. I just hope that some day these types learn that if we were all the same, it sure would make for a dull world. We all want people to like us, even you and me, but once they prove themselves unworthy, those feelings disappear. Keep up the good work, my friend. A true writer is honest with every word, no matter what others say. :-)

Well, I'm sad to hear there is more of that back biting going around. Seems to run in cycles on here. Those of us who are our own people have always had a tendency to draw attention, good or bad, which makes us out there and easily accessible. But, there always has been, and will be, the chicken shits who trash anyone willing to share their true, open and honest, thoughts and views. They aren't the first to have diarrhea of the mouth, and I'm sure they won't be the last. I'm sure they won't like everything we say or do. I just hope that some day these types learn that if we were all the same, it sure would make for a dull world. We all want people to like us, even you and me, but once they prove themselves unworthy, those feelings disappear. Keep up the good work, my friend. A true writer is honest with every word, no matter what others say. :-)

The worst thing about backstabbers is they are masterful manipulators and maintain their reputation of honesty because people count on them as being the most likely to be truthful. *cough* Iago envy all the way.
Having said all that, what a wonderful Octogram! In my view you've written this clearly in terrific iambic meter, your end line rhymes are pure and what a friendly and versatile form this has proven to be.
The Poetry Potlatch sounds like it's going to be an exquisite treat this Saturday, so see you there.

You're so right, Angel. The danger is in the deception of honesty and the huge following some of these people can garner. It's shocking. If only they could read what some of these people say in private. Their smiles would be seen for the lies they are.

I've got folks at work who are terrible gossips, nice to your face and then saying shit about you when you're not there. A couple of guys...you'd think the women would be the worst gossips, but no - the guys are like a bunch of nasty old ladies. So I guess humans never grow up. It's too easy to give in to the lower impulses.

The very reason I have zero male friends. Yep, they're awful. Jeesh. I decided in high school I wanted nothing to do with the LIARS. HAHAHA! They hate being called liars by the way, especially in high school. Yeah, the gossips around here are too much. Jealous fools. We're supposed to get excited when one of our fellow poets writes a killer piece. Then you get inspired and go write your own. What they're doing her defies sense.
We'll us cool kids can just ignore 'em and play our wild jungle music and chew gum. We do what we want. HAHAHA!

Yeah, I'm inspired by great poetry, not jealous. How bizarre! Think how they must hate old Shakes, or my good friend ST (Coleridge), or the dreadful WW! Haha! We can go crank the Doors and Smoke ciggies. Well that's what I did in high school anyway :)
