Hi Sandra, What a great Acrostic for this challenge, and your words sums up a spiders web beautifully, well crafted and lovely presentation to highlight your lines. A worthy poem for this image. Cheers Christineð???

I love acrostics! I can't say I love spiders, but I don't kill them. I release them.
I love how you describe the web, Sandra, and also the praise of their skill. They really do create some beautiful designs, and when the dew is on them in sunlight, it's quite magical.
I have one suggestion, take or leave. I'm not crazy about 'receiving'. I think 'restraining' might work better? Your choice, of course!

Thank you so much, Av. I'm not a big fan of them, but I prefer them to flies, and they do help keep them at bay. The 'R' was the hardest letter to fit in. I thought receiving them for lunch sounded polite, but only because I couldn't think of anything else, lol! I didn't think of restraining, which is what webs do. Thank you for that!! :) xxx Sandra

Good, smooth flowing rhyme with a study of the spider's work. Like the use of the acrostic and stuck to it while still making perfect sense.

Thank you, my friend. I found the picture hard to write a poem for. I think the car kept getting in the way. I'm glad you liked it. :) Sandra xx

That was a thought of mine also.

Oh Sandra, what a great acrostic!!! I LOVE this (and it's not my favorite form). Oddly enough, there's always been something fascinating to me about spiders - I say 'oddly' because they still give me the creeps (LOL) but I love them. Their webs are INCREDIBLY strong, and they can move a lot faster than we think they can. :))
I love your presentation too - how clever!
On MSN today, Buzz 60 was just reporting how wonderful spider silk can be when used in medicine - I went on YouTube to see if I could find the report for you, but I couldn't. I did, however, find another one by Buzz 60 I thought you'd find interesting, so here it is - (I hope you can play the video way over there from here)

~Thank you so much, Dawn, that video was great. We have a worm silk farm near us, and that is fascinating. The silk spider has the strongest thread, in fact, its thread is the strongest in the world. That really surprised me. Thank you, dear friend, for the lovely review. Sending you a great big hug! xxxxx :)

Hi Sandra, this is a great acrostic that looks so easy for you to write. I don't like spiders either, but as you say they are good for something. A very informative poem as well on how they build their webs. It's true that their web is a work of art. I enjoyed this a lot. Well done. Ulla xxx

Hi Ulla, thank you so much. What a lovely review you have given me, Bless you! I have just come off the Skype phone with Alexis, she's getting loads of bookings now for the summer. She'll soon be rich again, lol. It's nice that things are starting to go well for her. Now she has a car, she is well away. Thanks again for the lovely review!! :) Sandra xx

You did a terrific job with this challenge, Sandra. My favorite line:
Draped over trees and flower beds
I particularly like the word 'draped' because it's quite an original way of expressing it.
I had to smile at the way you wrote receiving flies ... And then you say they eat up their webs. I'm smiling because you avoided mentioning how they trap insects for food. Hugs, Lou

It's funny that you mentioned my not saying they eat the flies and insects, that sounded yukky, but eating their cobwebs sounded alright! lol. They do that, I learned a lot about spiders when I wrote my ABC book for children. I'm glad you like my poem, I found this challenge the hardest one to come up with something. Thanks, Lou! :) Sandra xxx

Ah, so this is the challenge picture this week.
It would be a hard one for me to write about.
You did a great job of educating the reader about the spider and it's web with your acrostic.
Fun read, sandra.

I think this was the hardest one to write about, Ellen, I tried a couple of poems and both ended on the scrap heap, so I thought I would try it in acrostic form, at least I had the first letter to work with, :) Thank you, my friend, for the lovely review. :) Sandra xxx

LOL, I'm not a fan of theirs, but I would never hurt them, and they really are clever. They also do an incredible job keeping the flies down--those I do hate! Thank you so much for your lovely review, and please pass on my best wishes to your spider friends! :) Sandra xx
