So cute! I love it! Very well written and I really enjoyed the cut scenes between the three friends. I wonder what their back story is! I didn't see anything that needed to be changed. Your writing is very good!

Hi Ulla,

I loved the title right off the bat and it made me wonder about my old friends. I remember in school that Evelyn, Dorothy and Lupe were inseparable. I often wondered why the connection? Also three other friends I knew: Rochan, Claire, and Gloria. I often wonder what happened to them, as also three friends I worked with at Universal Studios confessed to me that they were actually real witches. They are the ones I would be most anxious to know how their lives turned out. I am looking forward to reading part Two in the morning.

All the best,
Nan:))

Ahh Nan, how sweet is this. Thank you so much. You do warm my heart. So my story reminds you of old friends of yours? I like that. I do hope though that the Audrey in my story will not be one of them. All the best. Ulla:)))

Thank you for your response, Ulla. I was not at the computer yesterday, so hopefully your last two chapters will be ready to read today.

    The best always,
    Nan:))

This is a great start to a longer story. The description of the women reading the invitation set the feeling of tension without giving away too much. The personality and visualization of Audrey is described while leaving that of the other two women for later. You left me curious which is just what you would want.

Interesting story! I like. :)

Notes:

She didn't quite recognise it(.) Something about the letters, however, was vaguely familiar. - suggestion to tighten up the narrative. Take or leave! :)

She'd made sure to (suggest 'mail' or 'post' rather than 'send') the invitation far from where she lived

Audrey lifted her glass saluting the table. The scene was set. - Indeed it is! And my curiosity is peaked, too! Look forward to finding out where you're going with this, Ulla.

Well done! :)

Av

Well, now I'm hooked.

Three friends who now almost hate each other. Hmmm. What happened to cause that? And isn't it funny how she envisions the others as frumpy. I bet she gets a surprise.

I can hardly wait for the next installment to see what comes of the meeting. Good writing, and good hooking the interest of the reader. 8-)

This sounds very intriguing, Ulla, I had thought it was more of 'your' story, but I do like this one too. Part one of three? Well, as Audrey said, the stage is set, now for the action, but what? I look forward to reading just what Audrey is up to. Great start, my friend. xsx Sandra

Well, I must say that you have me primed with the suspense of what is on Audrey's mind and what will happen next. As it would appear to me, Audrey is not the still the same person that the guests will be expecting to meet there. Times and people do change. Of course, I'm guessing. Great job. :-)

Hi Ulla,

Very good opening sequence you have penned here. Setting the scene well, but leaving the circumstances for such clouded in mystery at this juncture.

Susan turned the card over, but there was no more. The envelope didn't reveal anything either. - to me, this felt a little out of place. She'd already read the card so knew this to be the case. This is info for the reader but feels strange in this context.

All the best
G
