It certainly was set - and very well described. You have managed to build up the tension beautifully, Ulla, and I for one can't wait to read on. Apologies for my late review, but the last couple of weeks have been full on. Apart from having several guests for the B&B, I had a girlfriend from Scotland here for ten days. As she's not a phone or Skype person, we had a lot to catch up with, so much wine was drunk while we did exactly that! I now have three days off until weeks of back to back bookings, so I can at last have a few hours to catch up with my favourite writers.
Now on to read part two!

Great story. The opening makes the reader an outsider, watching the actions of Susan, much like watching a play. As the story continues, we're drawn in and by the time Audrey sets her table, it's as if we're at the next table, with a bird's-eye view.
You've chosen a great stopping point--because I didn't want the story to end. I will definitely watch for the next part.
The writing is polished and the story flows at a positive pace.

Hi Ulla, this is a very intriguing piece. It sounds like these girls didn't get along so well with the one who has sent the invitation. I can't imagine it is something good, but I am very curious why she wants to meet them.

The suspense will bother me until you pick up the telling of this potentially explosive next chapter.

Oh how could you? I was all set to enjoy the meeting and you pulled the rug from beneath my feet. Even as a man, I am curious to see how this turns out and what might transpire as a result. It is very well written and clearly deserving of the recognition it already has received. Whether from this start or another, I'd say you'll surely complete at least one book to wide acclaim before you're done.

Just one suggestion for better flow, but not crucial.
