Michael, just read his again...I don't have the words to describe the feeling brought on by this little gem!! honestly...( sorry I'm so goofy)..but this takes my breath away!! the emotions expressed here hits be every time I read this!! dang boy, dang boy!! what a beautiful heart! This has inspired me, really. I am creating a contest "This Shade of Blue II" and I will mention your poem as inspiration.
I've been humming Ol' Blue Eyes "This Love of Mine" since yesterday. Sinatra is my God. Love lives, Mike!
P.S. Years ago, in Vegas, I spoke to a well known entertainer and asked him what was the secret behind Sinatra's magic. And he said:
"People believe the lyrics."

However, if I'm being totally honest, it did not connect with me because the images were not concrete or detailed enough to paint a picture in my mind. I liked the image of daisies pressed in a book and thought you could use more along those lines in terms of detail. I think you've got something there but it's not quite fleshed out IMO. Now, I'll take the payout and run lol.

As I read this aloud it stirred a memory in me. of one who is sadly no longer with us. She so often used blue for her poetry too.
There is little else for me to say, but beautifully written.
