It's always nice to show our soft sides, and especially, if it can give us an edge. You know, convince someone of our tender hearts, the one that wants to jump their bones. Shame on me! Did I say that? Thanks for another fine poem. :-)

Naw. We keep that to ourselves. LOL
Yep, our tender hearts. They like that. So, we give it to them. Our tender hearts, of course. HA! mikey

Love the cool blue theme. Makes me shiver! shy adieu -- that is a new word thrown on me. favorite word of mine, transcending. Nice rhyming word combination here: eyes blaze
you do
amaze
This is romantic:
first
sight
love
Angel theme and and closing picture is the clincher Code blue. BOO

Yep. It worked a lot better when I was young and handsome. I'm a little nervous relying on the words alone, oh and amazing physical prowess of course. HAHAHA! mikey

Wow,

This has a true ring to it. The words of love that are timeless, ageless and ever green. Your fantastic presentation sets the right stage for the reader. They say, the strongest love is the one unreciprocated. Though I can't imagine any girl that would remain deaf to your charm (lol).

We poets have advantage over other mortals - we can seduce with our words. Of course them on the other side have to be receptive to it.

your mind
rekindled mine
it had been
dark

This is very good, Mike. No girl, if she has a romantic streak, would remain indifferent to this.

It brought my favorite song of all time - "This love of mine" by Frank Sinatra.

This has inspired me, really. I am creating a contest "This Shade of Blue II" and I will mention your poem as inspiration.

I've been humming Ol' Blue Eyes "This Love of Mine" since yesterday. Sinatra is my God. Love lives, Mike!

P.S. Years ago, in Vegas, I spoke to a well known entertainer and asked him what was the secret behind Sinatra's magic. And he said:

    "People believe the lyrics."

This is beautiful and really flows smoothly. You write with so much passion. Whoever the lady is, she's very lucky to have you. I hope she know it. It's too bad more men can't see behind the smile and through the eyes of the women they claim to love. Btw, the blue font on the black background really adds to the sensual passion that I feel when I read your writing. Great work!

Hi Mikey, this is a good poem with lots of poetic devices and a killer presentation. However, if I'm being totally honest, it did not connect with me because the images were not concrete or detailed enough to paint a picture in my mind. I liked the image of daisies pressed in a book and thought you could use more along those lines in terms of detail. I think you've got something there but it's not quite fleshed out IMO. Now, I'll take the payout and run lol.

    Hi, Gail
Goodness. I think you actually read this. People do that? HAHAHA! I'll take a look at it. I do understand what your saying, it is sparse in imagery, true. I may be able to do something there. Thanks for the great input. You know it's faster if you skip the reading part. LOL mikey

Oh Mikey you really are such a romantic, I loved this entire poem, and the formatting and the font color you used, it was so calming.

The entire poem was so sensual in an understated way, and the art work complimented it so well. Your lady is so lucky to be the recipient of these well crafted words. When woman could resist such words as:

The love
of all my life
dear angel

you.

As I read this aloud it stirred a memory in me. of one who is sadly no longer with us. She so often used blue for her poetry too.

There is little else for me to say, but beautifully written.

Thanks for sharing.

Ann

Just love the artwork, Mav. Blue is the colour of true love in my opinion. I remember Gungalo used to say that all the time too, Cobalt Blue for her.

How beautifully poetic the first stanza, a love so bright even the sun retreats from its brilliance.

And you highlighted large font is like another poem within a poem.

How nice not to be vanquished by a life so incredibly difficult that disappointment and bitterness are all that is left. Our minds are powerful and can be used to either shed darkness or light, you have clearly picked light.

Your poem is the essence and yes evanescence of sacred love.

The entire presentation is considered to perfection. I had planned to enter the contest, but it's futile now. :))

Exceptional all the way,

Ange
