Magnolias are beautiful and fragrant flowers that remind many of home, including me. What a magnificent creation for the children of Earth. Well done in your few short words. You leave me with a warm fragrant feeling,
Have a nice Sunday,
Rhonda

Excellent.
I just have one point for your attention. I counted magnolia as having 4 syllables. Maybe it is counted different where you are (accents sometimes make counting syllables difficult) and sometimes I get it wrong.
Well done and good luck in the contest.

Thank you, Jane, for your great review and comments for my poem. I truly am grateful you took the time to read and share your kind words. I'm delighted you enjoyed it. If you had read my notes, I mentioned the Merriam-Webster dictionary shows magnolia as three syllables, but many people pronounce it using four. I think either three or four is correct. Thank you!

I thought I knew how to count syllables. I'm sorry for telling you but I also had the feeling that it could be either. When I'm counting syllables now I avoid "here" and "admire" because of this dilemma, which limits my choices. So does that mean that fanstory allow for this difference? I should have read your notes. My sincere apologies. Anyway, all the best.

Please...an apology isn't necessary! When I first posted the poem, I received three 4-star reviews because they also believed magnolia was four syllables. That's the reason for the author's notes. Pronunciation of so many words are different in different countries and different parts of the US. It's my understanding, the contest committee will look up any questionable syllable count in several references to be sure of different syllable counts due to pronunciation. Thanks so much for your response.

Oh wow, I'd love to actually smell the fragrance of this flower - I've heard about it so often, and it's such a beautiful blossom. Your 5-7-5 is perfect. The satori fits beautifully, and is a sensitive, tender moment.
