Hi tfawcus
Another gem if i had six stars i would have awarded you..
The poem is full of a magical essence and the whole picture paints a beautiful
vista of Irelands natural landscape planting a creative imagery within the reader.
With romance and subtle discordance of sadness but submissive in its delivery...
a lovely poem.

Blessings

Its a pleasure to see how a master writes a poem. I love how alive the story is and how it seems to just jump off the page. needles to say the flow is a delight -- all the work that goes into it being oblivious to the reader. tks

I'm impressed by this ballad, a story that may not be directly from Irish mythology but fits it perfectly. All the elements are there in rhyme, faery-world language, references to beings moving between worlds, and a sense of fantasy. The story has an arc of emotion and action, all within the poem. Very nicely done, and worthy of the award.

This is a very well written faerie story and, though long, it reads quickly. It mixes fantasy with legend well. Being an avid fantasy reader, I needed only the notes on some to the birds. I knew that fairies usually used song and dance to lure their victims. Sith makes one think of Star Wars and not fairies, now a days. I would like to be a selkie.

Congratulations on the contest win.

Keep writing

Joan

Good Evening, Tony,

Congratulations on taking the Blue Ribbon for the Story in a Poem contest. Your entry is superb and I am so pleased it has been recognized.

You're a Master Poet, Tony, and this poem is further proof of the pudding of your skill and expertise in crafting fine poetry. The meter is spot-on as are the end rhymes. But even more so, the story does not drag and is beautifully developed. The visuals are perfect. I love to watch the squirrels and birds in my ancient oak tree in the back yard. Your poem makes me thing of that area--a place of solace for me.

I'm so glad I've a six left this week for you.

Well done, my friend.

Ray

I very much appreciate your kind words about The Song Thrush and your fine gift of six stars, Ray. I was somewhat diffident about invading the pantheon of Celtic myth with a ring-in! I'm delighted that it entertained people as much as it seems to have done. Best wishes, Tony

I am not so well. A little behind. Had to get to this.
Beautiful. Superb language used. Such imagery. Descriptive the moment, subjective, the entity, marvelous the result.

Perfect.
My best wishes, my friend.

I'm in awe of and humbled by your erudition and the literary quality of your work! I know nothing of Irish legends, but I suspect this offering could be accepted as legitimate by English academics not specialists in the field.

Congratulations on the win!

Congratulations on winning - a well deserved honor.
This is so beautifully told, listening to you reading it
brought it to life.
Beautiful imagery throughout. I love the Gaelic terms which
add authenticity to this legend. All in all a most enjoyable read.
I'm very glad you won.
