WOW! Any friend would consider themselves lucky to have this kind of value. My best friend from high school has been around for forty six years, we've been through so much together. I'm so pleased your friend in difficulty has you, they hopefully feel gratitude for you. This is a genuine, heartfelt and very solid expression of love and friendship. While I haven't read any of the other entries, I expect this to be a contender for highest placement. I would award a six for the pleasure and warmth I received reading this poem, how much you convey in so few words, the presentation, though your words are profound without any image. Great cadence with "close/keep", alliteration of 'w' in "warm/whilst/weather". I've enjoyed your rhyming couplets, 's' alliteration and consonance, 'e' assonance . Impressive poetic technique and well considered emotional expression. I believe such support makes all the difference, whether the outcome is what is wanted or not.
