Beautiful poem with a wonderful photo displayed with that little girl holding that big butterfly... And hope to see some butterflies come outside to view in my butterfly/ hummingbird flowers to come up soon, maybe in about two weeks or less, planted awhile ago...Oh, too, my mom's name was Rose, you don't hear that name like you used too....Though her parents were from Bulgaria, and that is the national flower of that country, kind of think that is why they called her that, as too she was the only girl that lived who was born to them, and too was a redhead.....Quite a combination with red hair and being named a flower. My daughter's name is Wendy, and was born with my mom's hair color.
Thanks for sharing....Caressa_08

Hi, Linda.
I think it's very nasty of the little girl in the picture to tempt sweet butterflies with her apparent innocence, and when they've landed, quickly and tightly clench her fist. Splat! That's SOME 'game'. Haha.
Seriously, a very cute interaction between the butterfly and cute little girl.
Best wishes, Ray xx

Linda - Children never complicate things. I like that your poem seems to capture that and reads the way a little girl might speak out her thoughts. Purely. Simply. Enjoyed stepping into her shoes for a moment.
I have a passion for butterflies, dragonflies, tiddlywinks, lizzards and frogs - have passed that on to all my grandkids. Such fun!
Good write. Fine read.
God bless and my best,
Relda

A fun poem, and a delightful interchange between a butterfly and little girl.
I enjoyed reading it aloud, especially since I had been watching a butterfly on the azalea outside my window.
Thanks for sharing.

What a beautiful little girl with a beautiful smile as she holds the precious butterfly. A lovely poem - wish we could all stop and play a game with Rose.
Well done.
Blessings

Warm, light and sunny as a beautiful day. And of course, it is as playful as its subject. The faux dialogue in some lines just made it the more childlike and teasing. I could just hear the butterfly talking to the little girl across a flowering shrubbery. The words use and the rhyme of the lines really put you in the mood of a child hour in a garden.

HI Mary, thank you so very much...can you tell what needs improvement...that is a four star...thank you...Linda xxoo

This perhaps is my personal taste but I would really have loved that the last line wouldn't be that stilted, abrupt and repetitive. It could be put like - but you'd leave me just the same .- And it wouldn't only rhyme with the first two lines but gives a playful air which goes well with the poem's general theme.

thank you so much for the help...xxoo

Beautiful in its simplicity. A Beautiful Day is a wonderful poem that reaches the child in us all. I love the presentation--the color yellow; the picture; the poem with its unique rhyme structure. The message is clear. Enjoy the day. I like how you wrote it as dialogue between the girl and the butterfly. Rose and Star are beautiful names. Thank you for an enjoyable read. You brightened up my day! Thanks for sharing.
Peace, Jesse

Hi Linda sweets
Seems I missed this one! What a delightful poem with two fun characters. Lovely presentation. I don't think there is a poet who doesn't like butterfly poems.:)) This is a perfect children's poem, though adults can always enjoy so much as well. Great work dear gal. A beautiful day indeed. :))) Hugs - Lovi xoxoxo
