Hi LIJ

So sorry I thought I had reviewed them all, seems I missed you. Glad I came to check, these were an absolute treat. I love the fight ants, had a few nips from them myself. Of course, that was back in my ant trekking days a number of years ago.

I'm not sure if what you call European hornets is the same as what we call European wasps. They were quite a horror when they came to Australia, bright yellow and black stripes and VERY angry little beasts. I have to agree, "ma nature's wustis miscreans" ... swipe at one, then a whole squad appears ready to sting the hell outa ya.

I always say, "Maintain my boundaries, keep outdoors, you're fine. Come inside and the power's mine ... bug spray with no delay!! hee hee. Great set of limericks, if the meter is not perfect, neither is mine, I'm still hopeless at it. I have to call mine Lovimericks. LOL Hugs - Lovi xoxox

We write them quick, and I think we do well, but not perfect and not classic literature, and that's okay,
it's fun, and we learn things. Good deal all around. Thanks for reading and reviewing.

Hi LIJ:

I believe you have the most famous celebrities visiting the bugs in yer neck o' the woods today. Loved the vernacular and the fun rhyme and meter.

Great job!!

Thanks much for reading and reviewing, Kim. The whole group did it again, excellent limericks to be penned so quickly.

Thanks for the fun and the references to the luminaries. I enjoyed your rhymes in these 9-9-6-6-9 limericks. Here's to the Raid! Cheers- Joan

I think most folks like the eight/five limericks. I try for the older nine/six, and you are so right, it is not a snap for me. Thanks much for reading.

Very well done! Some of the dialect is hard to read the first time around, but I got the hang of it eventually. My favorite stanza is the last one. LOL!

Ted and his gang were building condos in my garage, and I took about eight stings. I overreacted and did a genocide on them bugs. Thanks for reading and reviewing.

This kills with intricacy and language and cleverashellness!! HA! This is like a flash of genius lightning. Loved it from beginning to end. Perfect meter and all that can get boring as can be and I KNOW you've read a lot of it here. This ain't boring! Great stuff, mikey

Warring insects - a unique take on the topic :)

Love the creative spelling scattered here and there, like this one:

they're ma natures wustis miscrean's

funny stuff, well done!

LOL... well, it's funny! It DOES have some meter issues, my dear man...
may I make a suggestion?

H. David Thoreau one night
was looking as piss ants that fight
till one of their brass
bit him in the ass
and Dwight put H. David to flight

Them scuzzy, hornet Europeans
are worser than Nawth Koreans
they sting and they bite
they fly in the night
they're ma natures wustis miscrean's

A mean yellerjacket named Ted
stung Red on his gleaming bald head
He gased in the night
and sprayed in the light
left Ted and his whole town all dead.

I think that fixes it all and leaves most of it intact. ;)
Well done, great storyline!
Hugs

Thanks a lot for reading and reviewing. Somebody has to get the low grade...makes the rest of the class feel good...and again I mostly ignored the prompt...ignoring rigid traditions, striking out boldly where none has gone before...yeehaa.

Well, in that case... Stop smacking the horse and run for it! Lol

Ha, Ellijay you always make me laugh and this Limerick suite is no exception. I especially get a charge out of the vernacular and the miscrean's. You really like making life difficult for yourself eh?

Love it! Did you get the clickable link figured out?

The link eludes me. I don't know if shooting from the hip or doing a better write has priority. Bang.
Thanks for taking a look, Gloria.
