Have you got an extra bedroom? If Trump Is president I will move out of the country--really. He has already damaged our political system and alienated other countries and he isn't even in power. I blame the media for covering his circus sideshow and thus making people believe he is a real candidate. If they would have just ignored him, he would have gone away. One thing the Donald doesn't like is to be ignored. A good acrostic--and about that bedroom ... Debbie

Hi again, Debbie. Now, I have a problem... you are not the first Fanstorian to have asked for abed if Trump gets in. I only have 1 spare bedroom... it might get a bit crowded!. LOL. Thanks for your review and let's keep our fingers crossed there will be no need for you to move here. Warmest regards, Marijke :o)

Very well written, I've been playing with some of these myself. It's a real challenge to bring them together, but you've done an excellent job. As to the politics of it all, I'm very disappointed in our options for president this year and even more disappointed that the GOP is rumored to be threatening to ignore the voters choice. I think too many people think that they should be able to make the decision for America. Our system, poor as it seems sometimes, has worked for 200+ years. It's my prayer that it maintains it's integrity for another 200+ years. Hopefully without Donald Trump serving as President. Enjoyed,

Bobby

Thanks Bobby, for your comments and observations. It has been interesting the responses I have received to this poem. Here in Australia voting is compulsory. Today it looks like the Prime Minister will call a double dissolution, and an election will be on, both lower house and upper house (senate). We will see. Our system is far different to yours. It looks like we will be inundated with both your USA elections news and our own over the next couple of months... oh well, that is democracy for you! Warmest regards, Marijke :o)

He is quite a character and definitely not a suitable cabdidatecin my humble opinion. We have a leader whom is the laughing stock of the world I think.

Hi Sandra, yes the laughing stock... but this is not a laughing matter. Let us hope he doesn't get endorsed, and definitely not elected. Let sanity prevail... we hope. Thanks for your review and your generous rating. Warmest regards, Marijke :o)

Hi Fionageorge. I couldn't agree more with you. yes he is a scary prospect, but I am sure the Americans could not be so stupid as to actually vote him their president. Being an Aussie I am watching with interest and it is interesting just listening to the rubbish that comes out of his mouth. now you acrostic is well written and you have used his name to create a worthwhile read. Cheers Christineð???

Hi Christine... maybe he is related to Clive Palmer? Thanks for your review, and your comments and generous rating. I think we should put Trump and Palmer and Putin and one or two others in one room together and lock the door... fly on the wall stuff! Thanks again and warmest regards, Marijke :o)

I do not usually write political poetry but I am quite tempted, since I am worried that Trump could actually be elected. Yes, your title should be our motto! I admired your focus on building bridges and peace. Hopefully, he will "alienate" enough people not to win the nomination!! Fingers crossed- Joan

Hi Joan, I don't usually write anything political... but after seeing Trump on our newscasts here in Australia night after night, I couldn't help myself. I'll let you all borrow that motto, with pleasure. Thanks for your comments and, as you said, hopefully he will alienage enough people. Let's hope so. Warmest regards, Marijke :o)

Marijke,

Wow!!! Your acrostic is very impressive!
You think? > "Master discriminator"

I like how your poem takes that positive
turn and your plead to us is so well
written using that name and the extra
trump.

I'm glad you spoke out poetically.

Perceptive words from outsider. Trump has leaders from other counties concerned about what he might do as President. Mind if we come to Australia if he's elected? That would be my first choice of where to go. You give several reasons why he is not qualified to be President. Despite the mistakes and the vulgar display he's made, he's still way ahead in the polls. If he wins New York, he will be virtually unstoppable. Excellent use of Acrostic format for your poem. judi

Hi Judi, thanks for those kind comments and your generous review. We will welcome you with open arms... we are also in the process of an election... lots of controversy, but nothing like Trump, thank goodness. Warmest regards, Marijke :o)

You're very welcome.I don't know how we happened to get Trump. I don't recall any great outcry for him to run, and he's upsetting so many people. judi

I share your fear of Donald Trump. His latest antics over delegates is just to inspire sympathy for himself as a candidate. I hear Americans are putting out feelers to Canada to move here if he is elected. I have dual citizenship and have lived in Canada for 50 years, but I might renounce my U.S. citizenship if he is elected. Your poem is very meaningful write at this time.

Hi Marijke:

Good luck with your Acrostic for the contest. The political future is tentative, that is for sure. The real problem is that there aren't any GOOD candidates in this election. I keep waiting for a miracle to produce itself, but it doesn't seem to be happening. On the other side of the ballot the forerunner should clearly be in jail for treason against the nation. There are no good choices, I'm afraid.

Have a great day!

Kim

-Good poem that gets across your feelings with logic.
-Effective use of imagery.
-Very good points in the first stanza.
-The second is like a personal message about not alienating people.
-Very good final message:
"USA please vote with peace in mind
Make the world breathe easier"
-Thanks for sharing your concern.
