Hi there Marijke, another grand poem you've created my friend. Love the story line.. don't judge a book by its cover.. oh so true. The poem flows really well and the rhyming throughout works perfectly. Each stanza paints an image in my mind and I can see that young man so easily through your well chosen words to describe his appearance.. Too bad he didn't have a twin brother to offer you a seat also..
great poem and a pleasure to read.. totally agree with your thoughts Marijke.
Just noted in stanza beginning .. when I got home and settled down... the last line might need a 'to' adding to it.. and the way he'd been kind (to) me.

I enjoyed your poem. The lines flowed smoothly, and the story and message are super. I liked the use of rhyme, too. Your picture is perfect for your words. Together the picture and words make an enjoyable read of how we should all look past outward appearances and be more compassionate to each other. Good job and thanks for sharing and caring. The young man would be proud you wrote this after your shared experience.

That is so true, you never can tell who the really kind and thoughtful are by their appearance. Just for chuckles--I'm in a wheelchair so I always have a seat. I enjoyed your poem, my friend~Debbie
