Hi Debra,

This one is just too cute. So many kids will avoid eating their vegetables at all costs. It makes me smile to think about the scene at the table. Peas were the one veggie that I loved, couldn't get enough of them lol though, they were best shucked right from the shell out in the garden... shelling them into a bowl took forever 'cause I think about half of them went in my mouth. :)

Great poem!

Kim

Hi Kim :) Mmmm! Fresh peas straight from the shell are hard to beat! Thank you for your lovely feedback. Best wishes, Debra :)

My peas do the same damned thing - but I still love the little rascals LOL. This as a very fun poem to read - should be just great for a child. Good job on this, Debra

Thanks Douglas :) I'm a pea fan too, although I didn't used to be....maybe they will grow on Katie in time! Kindest regards as always, Debra :)

Katie should consider herself lucky she doesn't have to eat her peas with chopsticks, Debs. ;-)

Great harmless fun in this very original and imaginative theme, written in top meter as always.

Cheers, Ray xx

This is so cute and I still have trouble with those roly-poly little buggers getting away from me. I just let the dog have the ones that get away and go for the dessert. Well done, my friend~Debbie

Hi, Debra

= Them peas ... them peas!
= Cute little story, and love the perfect artwork.
= Her expression says it all ... kids just love those veggie critters.

Sounds like life at my house when I was young, back in the paleolithic ere. When Julia Childs book of French cooking came out, my mother (who had spent her junior year in the Sarbon/sp/ in Paris) decided we were going to eat French. She labored all afternoon preparing meals. I mean lamb chops, roasts- chicken everything with Lima Beans on the side (I hated lima beans). We'd ask what for supper? and she tell us things like- poached salmon-or sea food gumbo- fricassee chicken- and our hearts would race. Seems she had jumped over a section of the book on how to thicken what you've spent so much time making. So we'd wind up with poached salmon in water sauce- roast beef drowning in water sauce- chicken gumbo in sink water- goulash en glaze du Lou. I can't spell French, sorry. It's not so funny when the one thing on your plate you're actually looking forward to eating was the mashed potatoes and they were swimming in a lake of water. I was forever being told-"don't add salt", I put it in while it was cooking. Guess she didn't realize it had washed off when she added the sauce.

Lol Chuck! Get you eating all that posh nosh when you a nipper, and fancy having the audacity to request salt to make it more palatable! Thanks for sharing your memories with me and also for the stars :) much appreciated, Debra :)

This is quite a piece and now I understand why my kids would not eat their peas...they had a mind of their own.
Very cute and a true fun one to read.
Loved the rhyme and the ease of reading

Very cute, Debra... yes, I'm sure you have a lot of 'playtime with food' with three little ones... (or sort of little) anyway. ;)
I've seen them on Facebook and they're adorbs...
Well done, perfect rhyme and rhythm... I enjoyed it, even if it was about food. LOL

Hi Cat :) thank you for the great feedback and for your lovely comments about my little monkeys! I spend much of mealtimes in our house picking out onions and mushrooms, blowing on things, chopping things, mopping up spills and eating food that's cooled too much to be nice any more... Can't wait for a mealtime when I can just sit and eat without interruption or drama!
    best wishes, Debra x

A cute kids poem :) I enjoyed your theme about peas. I always use my fingers to get the peas to go on my fork lol!

Peas always make me think of my father-in-law who'd say, "I pead on the floor," when so ebody would spill their peas. He passed away on Wednesday so we're cherishing memories of him as we prepare for the funeral Tuesday.

Hi Joy, I'm sorry to hear of your loss. Please accept my sincere sympathy x
Your father-in-law sounds like he was a fun character :)
Thank you so much for your lovely feedback...I use my fingers too for such things (I just don't let the kids see me doing it!)
Kindest regards as always, Debra :)
