There's an article in the new Nat'l Geo. Mag. you might want to take a look at. Remember you can not dictate to the heart but writing it down in poetic form as you've done surely can't be bad. We all have to adjust to scarcity in life even if it's family of the heart.
Your poem was refreshingly direct and a little cathartic. Good!

The one good thing that came out of this is the love he would not have known if it hadn't been for you. Feel good about that. He died knowing you loved him, and he loved you. God don't make mistakes he put you in this young man life for this reason. I know a lot of young people with parents just like his with the same kinds of problems. My husband for one is still helping out his step son. His mother died his real father is a school teacher who has never owned up to being his father. It sad that kids have to be born into this kind of life. It's people like you and my husband who makes a different in their lives. God bless the both of you. Thanks for sharing.

My tears are for you right now. They just keep coming sometimes and I let them. I so wish I could comfort you too. At least we can be honest and say the truth and not act like everything is ok. God Bless.

What a wonderful yet painful read Jusylee...So sad what you have endured in your life. I know death is the ultimate finale in life but to be taken too early is so sad and the emotions fly around and Questions asked. If religious it makes you question your faith. Thanks for sharing your story with us all.
