The ending came about because my cat came up to me then and starting screeching at me for food! LOL, I had to put it in. I'm glad you liked it, Debra, thanks my friend. :) Sandra xxx

Hi Sandra. This is an excellent poem. I enjoyed every line. Rhyming, content, and cadence all work to produce a fun and playful piece. Especially got a kick out of the last two lines. Marilyn

I look at this picture and see the correlation. The little girl with her stick making that tapping sound, allows her to create music in her head. The pianos, the violins, trumpets and birds making music being conducted by the maestro's. I hate cats, so there would be no place for them.

Sandra, your message in this very created resonates back to me about a child's mind being able to block out the world if only for a short time.

Well done my friend.

Love you and please take care,

Jim

Thank you so much, my friend. I had a lot of fun writing this one. I used to do this on the way to school, we had a nice fence all along the alley way around the allotments. Do you have allotments in America? They are plots of land where several people can have a part of it to grow fruit and vegetable on if they haven't any room in their gardens at home. We have one now and Graham grows all our vegetables, it's really lovely eating your own home grown food. Thanks again, my friend.

    Love you lots! xxx Sandra

I think you've written a wonderful poem for this picture prompt. The reader can get right into the girl's head and "hear" all the melodic sounds going on inside. She is a maestro! Bravo for her. And then those cats just had to join in didn't they? Oh, well, I'm sure it was pure music to their ears as well. Best of luck in the challenge. Loren

Love this, love this. I like music and music concerts so I saw an entire orchestra playing in here. .."he violins played soft and slow, and trumpeters blew nice and low...Such imagery!

HAHAHAHA - what a sweet poem! (But Prissy is NOT pleased with you...) *grin*
Oh Sandra, this is such a charmer! I have just one question - but I've been up all night, o I'm probably just thick-headed = why the apostrophe for maestro?

Wonderful though - wish I still had a six!

I have no idea why I put an apostrophe there, Dawn! It's not you who's thick-headed, it's me! I have removed it now! Thank you dear friend. I had almost finished writing my poem when my cat came up to me meowing her head off, demanding my attention, hence the last two lines! LOL. Thanks again, my friend. :) Sandra. xx

You've given us a beautiful musical poem for the picture this challenge. The rhyme and flow carry it along like a well played musical score. Thank you for sharing.
Bless you
John
