Hi Shari ...

Ha! That's so danged funny. Our trash man loves leaving our barre; turned over as he leaves. Almost every Tuesday I have to go out and upright all three barrels. But, at least he hauls it away!

Big hugs to you & Frank ...

Alan

I've noticed that here too. Trash cans tossed any which way on the ground. Sometimes, paper escapes and litters the lawn.

There is an alley between the back of the houses on our street and the back of the houses on the next street. The trash man runs down the alley one way and then back the other. The truck has a hydraulic arm that retrieves the can, dumps it and returns it to the ground. It isn't picky how it sets the barrel down!

best to you, my friend. Hope all is well with you and Frank.

Very clever! I will be remembering this poem tomorrow morning when I hear the trash being picked up at 5:30 a.m.! Quite imaginative, and shifts my sensibilities with trash day. Thanks for your creativity! Caroline

ahahahahahaha! Driver's latest CRUSH. Very humorous, Shari. I'm hoping everyone will catch the double entendre you've created here. Very smart!

This is funny. I never gave any thought to the pink bows. I like the way you handled and had fun with the word "crush." Great last line. That bag in the picture does look kinda cute. I would imagine that trash collectors don't pay much attention to the color of the bow. Except in your imagination. judi

I don't know. A colorful bow jazzes up their job a little. :-)

Our trash bags have yellow. I don't know what that means. judi

A soldier's coming home? Tie a yellow ribbon round the old Oak tree. :-)

Good morning, Shari,
Even if you are doing some trash talking. lol
Clever 5/7/5 message and picture. Nice alliteration with green and garbage. You crushed it in the last line. 8-)

I must say I love your sense of humor in this one. I thought I had a keen sense of humor, but some on here make me look like a pauper in the humor area. Patricia

A great 5-7-5 poem with a lot of truth. The last line ties the trash together
and made me smile, "driver's latest crush". Good luck with the contest!

Clever and delightful use of so few words. I wonder if the garbage man smiled when he saw the pink bow as I did. To make poetry from garbage is talent indeed. Helen x

Hey, have you ever seen the gowns and dresses made out of trash bags? Really creative.

You did make me laugh with your very clever and fun double-meaning punchline, Shari.

Mind you, I prefer MY 'crushes' to smell of roses. ;-)

Nice one.

Cheers, Ray xx

Hi Shari ~

Re your 5-7-5 contest entry. "Hugs for Trash,"

"garbage man picks up
green plastic bag with pink bow
driver's latest crush."

Whether it be a crush on the sender or a crush of the truck crusher mechanism, he seems to be the winner either way!

Good luck in the contest. Did you mean to say,
"he gets paid?" or did I miss something.

Hugs for Trash
