This is a very tender story of finding an abandoned kitten in the woods and discovering a good and welcoming home for him. The description of the woods is beautiful and vivid enough to bring the reader into the story. The tone is leisurely as the tale unfolds in an unhurried way. The rescue of the kitten tells a lot about the character of the mailman and later Emily and her mother. Nice happy ending.
