I followed your journey in my head because you gave such good descriptions and kept the 'rehab' moving along. Seems like you made the best of a tough situation, and now you have left the reader hanging...good for you.

Thanks, Maggie. Interesting things ahead. Right now though, I'm worried about Frank's health again. I'm seeing red scabs or blisters on his chest and thinking breast cancer. He's going to fight me when I insist on going to urgent care just in case.

God, do you ever get a break...so sorry.

The symptoms I saw are less prominent today, but I'll still mention it to the doctor. Apparently no part of his body is in pain. Wahoo!

Constipation woes? You said that with such sarcasm. I bet you really did miss those updates. Something's a-brewing again, so this was a nice continuation of the previous chapter. Still evidence of your humor in this though the mood is definitely changing. You are beginning to resign yourself to your age and the pitfall of growing older gracefully. I did not know that Frank showed signs of his dementia that long ago.

Found no SPAGs or other oddities. I've been grading Spanish papers so such things tend to stand out when they occur. :)

Apathy is driving me crazy. I just can't take this mediocrity anymore. It's killing me...

I hear you, Diana about apathy. Try starting your class with a question such as what is your favorite TV show, movie, song, etc.
If you're not familiar with what they name, ask them to tell you about it. Hey, they might start singing! In other words, think outside the regimented lesson plan to get their gears going.
Thank goodness, I kept medical records. I was surprised too at how much time had gone by.

It sounds as if your nursing home stay was more pleasant than mine. I'll be writing about it soon, once I finish a project I am working on and get back to the serious business of writing. Mine wasn't bad, I suppose. I just so much didn't want to be there. I have the opposite of Frank's condition. My potassium runs very low, and I have been hospitalized numerous times for it. Neither one is a good thing to have. You have been through an awful lot the past six years. A well written story, my friend~Debbie

I would think rehab patients do get better treatment than those in nursing homes. I look forward to reading yours. Do all the research about low potassium on the net. Doctors miss a lot of home remedy cures.
Thanks for reading and reviewing, Debbie.

Wow, they cooked better at the rehab centre than your own cooking? It was likely just because you didn't have to do the dishes afterward. Housework is a LOT of physical exertion.

Definitely a good point that a hospital gown isn't suitable gym wear.

Sounds like a really ritzy place. Whew that was lucky the Baptists didn't try to recruit you. They really can be very persistent.

Haaaaaaa, I laughed out loud that you missed Frank's constipation updates, I did not expect that after Criminal Minds and sitcoms. I think you might want to send a script to those fellows.

Uh oh, unexpected news. That can go either way, I guess we stay posted to find out which.

A most entertaining post, Shari.

The previous chapters as well as this one makes me feel foolish complaining about my aches. You were lucky to have insurance and the ability to have top care. However, even top care can't block things from popping up like Frank's Vascular Dementia and Hyperkalemia. You are a very strong women inside and out. Frank is lucky to have you.

Hi Shari,
Thanks for sharing this , almost tragic, time in your life. Rehabilitation centers can be life saving. I'm glad your experience
was a good one. I loved hearing that you headed for the hair salon
right away. Spunky kid that you are! LOL
Well done, as usual your story flows flawlessly and is of great interest to me, the reader. I look forward to hearing about Nichole's unexpected news.

Great description of the rehab facility. It seems you got into a good one too. Love your description of your roommate. Sorry to hear about your husbands diagnosis and now we have to wait to find out what the unexpected news is from Nichole. It never seems to end, does it?

I can't imagine what that place cost my insurance company. I only had to pay about two hundred. Frank's dementia right now is more frustrating than sad. Some good and some bad news coming next week. :-)

Hi, Shari.
You described your rehab facility so well, from your roommate to the oval table. I know what those places are like and not an easy stay. Wow, not only did you have your health to contend with but now compounded by the news of Frank and the diagnosis of vascular dementia. Even with all you've gone through, you still have such a positive outlook and wonderful sense of humour that comes out in your writing.
Another great addition to your book.
Bye, my friend!
Hugs
Rosalyne :)

Another good chapter, Shari. Again, you sprinkled a little humor in an otherwise serious story. You brought in your roomy and talked about her just enough to relieve the tension. You introduced a new problem/situation; Frank's health problems. You ended on a cliff hanger, making the reader want to know more: was Nichole's news about Frank, herself, or someone/something else? This piece was interesting from start to finish. Excellent writing, Shari.

A well written description of your life at the rehab center and glad you made it through. I am very concerned about your husband's mental decline. Can't wait for the next story, the unexpected news!
