So that is what happens in the rehab centers. You do make it sound like the want you to relax and take advantage of the time you spend there. That makes sense if they want you to recover as quickly as possible. Love the picture of the doggy in the hospital gown.

I love that picture too. Yes, the experience was almost like a vacation!

I am glad your stay in the rehab center was a pleasant experience, it sounds like a great place and provided many good services such as the hairdresser. It is also good that you had a roommate that was nice and you got along well together.

Thanks, foxie. I wanted to write for a living, but to be practical I went into teaching English.

I love the style of this and it's something I should make note of. You maintain a very conversational feel, yet it's still concise and fast paced. The concise and fast paced is the thing for me to pay attention to. HA!! Conversational I can do. :))
This continues to totally capture me and draw me in. You have a great knack that only a few have to make anything seem quite interesting. What a great thoughtful choice of artwork. How we ALL relate!! mikey

That's what everyone says-- a conversational feel. Must be a good thing. Thanks Mikey.

Amazing what having your hair done can do to make you feel better. If it hadn't been for having a room mate, it sounds as though your stay at the rehab centre was fairly enjoyable. The news about Frank must have been a bonb shell though. I can't imagine what it must be like watching someone yopu love changing in front of your eyes, however gradual.

I look forward to hearing Nichole's news - a baby perhaps?

No way a baby. Nichole's not the nurturing type. I wasn't that surprised at the news since his mother had Alzheimer's. It
progresses so slow that you barely notice it for the first six or seven years. You're so right about the hair!

    Hugs,

Wow.... And I mean that sincerely. These last writings you've posted truly has allowed me to have a greater Appreciation for my health. I'll be 37 this August and I still can't believe it. I've been having female issues and that alone has been driving me crazy. I have a new found respect for, dare I say... Older individuals in similar dispositions as the one you mentioned. This takes more than courage to bear. Your faith and appreciation for life is phenomenal. Some wouldn't know what to do or how to handle all of what you and your husband endured. Excellent writing.

Great job with your synopsis of your recovery time in rehab. Totally accurate I can attest since I've spent time there with family and friends. 8-)

Thanks for the verification, BG. My first draft was too wordy. Glad you noted this was a synopsis.

Are you sure you were in rehab? That place sounds like a five star resort, LOL. Great humor woven in and, again, I can't get over the luxury of the place, especially the hair salon. Makes a person want to break something just to have a get-a-way that is covered by insurance. Hugs, Lou

Five star resort--I almost used that. My favorite experience was the dining room. Umm, now you have me thinking. Can I manage to fall again? Cancel that! Still not worth it. Health is everything. :-) Shari

Well done, my friend. Your description of the rehab center and how it made you feel so pampered brought back old memories. The danger is if one gets used to such a place and never wants to go home. I tend to rebel and want to be on my own. (I couldn't stand to miss my favorite TV programs forever. LOL)

I saw nothing to correct or change. It was a nice smooth read.
Congrats on sixth place novelist!!

Thanks, Ellen. If it were to happen again, I'd demand a private room and a computer. LOL
BTW, I'm in fifth place, but don't expect it to last. The year is still young.
FS is beginning to feel more like a poetry site. Why does everyone think he can write poems?
A lot of mundane same old stuff.
reply by barkingdog on 11-Mar-2016
That's one reason I'm not on site very much. There's nothing to read except you and several others. The poets have taken over. And I use the word poets lightly. Most of it is horrible. They call it free verse and have no idea what they are doing. What a mess!!
I'll be back to read you again. Hang in there.

Amen! Poets have taken over. There should be a separate site for them.
reply by barkingdog on 12-Mar-2016
This is it. This IS the POET site. Ha-ha
    We are just their guests.
They pay the way for Tom to keep the site going. There are other writer's sites out there. FS isn't even listed in the Writer's DIgest as a top site anymore.
There are still a few good writers left. Emphasis on FEW.
Take care and keep the site going, Shari.

Few is right. Wish Captain Jack would write more. Lee (Humpwhistle) doesn't post much these days. WD stopped listing FS four or five years ago.
Oh well, it's an audience and I'm learning how bad I am at commas still. Sigh...
