This must have been music to your ears! ...
A very long pause ensued ..."I've ... I've always wanted a daughter."
I'm so pleased that he never hung up on you.

I am not big on non-fiction but this is some damn good writing and You drew me into a genre I don't normally go. I may have to rethink the bio's now. Well done.

They say truth is stranger than fiction. Your story is amazing, Ulla. How wonderful you were able to connect with both your parents. The back story is so tragic, but you persevered.
I read this chapter super fast to see what happened. Then I re-read. Excellent story. Can't wait for your next post!

Thank you so much, Marissa. Yes, it was special to find them both. I have indeed been very fortunate. Am I soon to hear more of Fernando? I do miss him you know. All the best. Ulla

Yes, you'll hear more from Alejandro today! Although he's not prominent in this chapter. But, you'll still like it. LOL

This is a great chapter, Ulla. The moment has its own excitement without a word needing to be told, but the way you've documented this in the telephone conversation is riveting. It has all the emotion and tension that one could expect from such a human interaction. I loved the man's responses and the way you heightened reader expectation with the intervening thoughts. Great stuff.

Whenever I watch a show on TV that demonstrates family love, I have no choice about whether or not tears will flow. One of the most important traits of being human is being able to love and be loved. That is the true meaning of rapture...John

Hi, Ulla
= What a neat conversation. I liked your father's reaction. A bit of subtle humor.
= Nice, heartwarming chapter.
= Can't wait to read about his reaction to your letter. (*<*)
<> Comma needed.
= As a further bonus(,) I thought I
= "Yes(,) you're right. That's what I've been struggling to
<> Also, this sentence read a bit scattered with redundant/excess verbiage, so I made a suggestion.
<> Deleted one =quite= for redundancy.
=YOURS= (Delete incorrect commas in this sentence).
"I've given you my name as it is now, but I was born[,] with quite a different name[,] to a Danish woman that I understand you knew quite well back at the start of the 1950's."
=SUGGEST=
"I've given you my name as it is now, but I was born with a different one. My birth mother is a Danish woman that I understand you knew quite well back at the start of the 1950's."
= I apologize for the lateness of my reviewing and/or answering reviews.
= I'm editing to publish again, so bear with me.
* Cheers & Blessings *

Hi Ajax, thanks for a great review, and I will be looking into your suggestions that I find very good. I understand that you are busy. Are you publishing soon? All the best. Ulla
-
- Yes... I hope so, very soon.
- Keep getting pulled away with 'life', so my publishing date keeps getting pushed back. (*<*)

It is nice to read you Ulla. I wish I had another six for this. This has brought back a lot of personal memories of my own. Though I wasn't adopted just the whole misery behind a father reminds me of my ex-husband and the pain he took my daughter and I through all to duck child support. You've shared a poignant part of you and life that is well respected and admired.

Some men are quick to deny any responsibility because of being hit with child support. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words.
