Your poem caught my attention as I was born in Morristown Tennessee and later this year I will be attending a confrences in Nashville. Good times.

Overall very good, and I'd love to hear it set to music. The only drawback I have with it, is I don't get a clear meaning. I assume the writer is leaving a woman behind, but it's unclear whether or not he's happy or sad about it. Maybe that's the intent, but it leaves me a little confused. Again, overall I think it's well written and flows very well.

It is a good tribute to Tennessee, but as I read it, I keep thinking you are talking about a woman...is it both? Perhaps a woman in Tennessee? I am confused by the 7th and 8th stanzas. The first six seemed to be sung directly to a lost lover (Tennessee or a woman), but the 7th and 8th seem to be switching to someone else that could hold the lost love...but maybe I am interpreting it incorrectly. Anyway, it was good!

Sounds like a good, proper country song to me! ;-D
Flows well. I don't see anything that needs to be changed. Good choice of artwork. Thanks for sharing and good luck with it!

Such a tribute to Tennessee This name could also be name of a state, a woman and a dog. Sorrowful poem that character can't take loneliness anymore. Misses lover so much. liberty justice

Hey, Brett,

Well, I see you have developed a good rhythm and abab rhyme scheme in this song about a lost love. Fortunately, a song can play with the meter as you can hold a note to save the beat. still...this one reads pretty well.
Of course, a country western song about losing your girl had been done to death, but I suppose with an original sound track it might fly.
...and God may have created Tennessee, but he lives in the High Sierras of Cal/Nev, dude....yeah, my opinion, again!

That is the thing about it.

Everyone fancies where they live to be the best place on Earth.

However, NONE of them can even come close in comparison to Nashville, Tennessee.

    Glad you enjoyed these lyrics.

Hi Brett,

Again you have written a very nice poem. You sure are a talented man writing poetry and stories. I love writing them both too. Keep up the good work, my friend.

Another wonderful poem on the loss of a love. A very nice illustration to go with this piece. Tennessee is a lovely state. I have been through it many times.
