I am only reading this so I can vote on that which I think is the best in the contest. 5/7/5's are very hard to write if you want to truly convey a proper meaning to your audience. I have heard that folks are going around fs and giving nasty reviews. So I think your response is great. Best wishes in the contest.

I do not know which is harder on fan storey. Writing or getting reviews. Your poem tells so much truth in such few words. I do not like trying to tell someone that I did not like the writing I just read. I try to write it tactfully and no matter how bad it is I always try to start with something good about it. I know that when I get a review and they tear my writing to pieces because of punctuation it hurts deeply. Good luck with the contest. I enjoyed the poem.

Very true that some people are not diplomatic. But I have found, after I calm down, and especially if I am not getting many reviews, that my work can use some work ;-) This is a well written 5-7-5 that gets the point across well and is a good reminder to people to be polite. Well done!

okay. I'll tell you the truth. I had never seen 'withstanding' used in this sense and had to look it up. It's absolutely correct and definitely makes a statement, but I'm worried that many may not GET it because they might be like me (dumb!) or won't look it up. Hope that's not the case!

It's not entirely impossible to be a bit critical in a review, but also mete that criticism with tact and respect. If something is so horribly written (in your opinion) that you can find nothing good to say, simply pass on it without ripping that aspiring writer's hopes to shreds and move on to the next, despite what they might be paying in promotion.
It's also good to listen to constructive critique because usually the one's offering suggestions are only trying to help. In addition, always try to say what you enjoyed about their work, instead of focusing your entire review on the negative aspects.
Good syllable count, with a pertinent message to convey. This is a very well written entry for the contest.
