Very well written and very interesting. People seem to want to know their families from the past. Our grandson was able to connect with family members of his father in later years. His father and mother are both deceased, but he does have an aunt and uncle from his father's side that means so much to him. Very well done.

I readily connected with your piece when you talked about having been adopted. I was not but was raised as a ward of the state. I am most interested in what happens when you pick up that phone as you continue your quest in search of your father. Some of your sentences seem choppy and could benefit from being connected to others which follow. Analyze that. Also, do some editing, i.e., verb-subject agreement (George and Mum leaves). Check your verb tenses throughout. I will be making a similar search to yours and found your piece an interesting one as a biographical reflection. Thank you for sharing it.
