Sandra, I like your poem of remembrance that might well come true in the not too distant future, as technology continues to progress. This would be a lovely poem to keep in the archives of history to remind children how lovely books were to their ancestors.

Sad old picture. Great picture if you ignore the theme.
I still enjoy a good book. Thank God our local library doesn't look like that.
Haven't borrowed a book for quite a while though and downloaded a free Kindle reader and bought a digital read recently.
Enjoyed your poem.

Thank you so much, Christina. I don't have a Kindle, although I have thought about it. But I do much prefer real books. Glad you liked this one! :) Sandra

Sandra, sorry it's taken me a while to get round to reading your picture challenge poem. I've been out of time and I am way behind in my reviews.
I really enjoyed reading your interpretation of the picture challenge. It tells a story of how magnificent reading an actual book can be and how it can fuel an imagination. It is sad to think that real books may be a thing of the past like vinyl records. I certainly hope not as I love holding and admiring books. It is so much more personal.
My picture challenge poem is out of proportion now but I would love to hear your comments on it when you have a mo. Thank you and blessings ~ DD

'These books must be so heavy, just a few would weigh a ton!
While I can hold a thousand books here in my tiny hand, '

How touching and poignant~! It makes me sad - because I think you are soooo correct~! Wonderful/dreadful poem! Thanks for sharing!

I honestly hope I'm not, Robyn. The death of the paper book would be disastrous for all future generations. Oh, I honestly hope I'm wrong! Thank you so much for coming and reading mine, Robyn. :) Sandra xx

This story says it all! Like many of us, I share the sadness over the loss of the actual printed books. You created a lovely dialogue about the generation gap. It captured so much the difference between the romantic feel of holding an actual book and the cold feeling of the digital world... Sigh!
Thank you for sharing!

Yes me too Sandra, I love books ( hard copies) and am resisting the ebook option. What a lovely story you have created and I could see them both, he with his memories and she wondering what he was really talking about. I read to my grandies and they love books. A great piece well written . Cheers Christineð???

Very clever Sandra, this is a really good take on this fabulous artwork, you've put so much effort into it, and in that immaculate manner in which only you can. The verbal exchange between Grandad and child is priceless, one can't deny the logic of the child. Ahh, the warmth of books, lovingly bound and artistically presented, is of the soul. Well done in even meter and in smoothly articulated aabb language is without guile. Well done, blessings, Roy

Love this take on the picture, Sandra.

You write so well. The story of Grandfather and books is priceless. I only hope real books never go out completely. It's something we have no control over, just as so many other things transpiring in this sad world we live in.

You did a great job. Drew xx

We are slowly but surely moves in the direction where books will not be found anymore. Hopefully it will not happen in our lifetime.
