I was born in the year of the tiger as my poem of a few days ago announced :) To be more specific I'm a water tiger. Whatever that means? Oooooh year of the car to be upstaged by a joint year of the teeth and wedding. That'll be a doubly expensive year.

Good biographical story. Good luck in the contest!

    Thanks, Joy.

The wedding's not actually till 2017 but any saving for it will have to be done this year - perhaps I will win a competition.

You have a better chance at winning a contest than me lol! Weddings are expensive these days. You better plan to win quite a few contests.

I love your witty style, your reasoning behind not agreeing with something then completely arguing for it. The car thing had me in stitches, we have all been there at onetime or another, a very bad year. But the are we nearly there yet comment made me laugh out loud.

Yes the Chinese new year is the Monkey and it's been like that for years and I respect it in all and nothing more, so keep up with great work.

Well that's not so bad. It's your son's wedding at least not a daughter, trust me much more expensive the other way around. This was quite entertaining and I think I have to agree with you on all the horrorscope mumbojumbo

Hey one little prob

I can reliably inform you that 2016 was indubitably the Year of the Car.

I think you mean 2015

    Thanks, Dawn.

I fear if we'd had a daughter, she would have worn rags down the aisle!

Very funny, Steve - although I'll bet you're not laughing. I've had a few years like your Year of the Car - If you follow the Chinese example - these things rotate on a 12 year cycle. I've been through the Year of the House, and the Year of the Family Feud. I've also been through the Year of the Car. I hope I don't see it again for a long long time.
All's good now. I was born in the Year of the Tiger. I like being a Tiger person.
Dragons are great too - The Chinese Dragons are water dragons - that's why flying isn't usually on their resume.

I found your article interesting to read - nothing to fix or change.
Rose.

    Thanks, Rose.

I lived in Singapore for 8 years including 1988 which was a Dragon Year - and a lucky year, I suppose, since the number 8 is considered good fortune... I've seen enough dragon and lion dances to last a lifetime.

Congratulations on the upcoming wedding. And for the well written essay. I can relate to the year of the Rat as I was born during the year of the Rat. Well done.
