We have a pasture across the street from our house and I feel so sorry for the horses in the summertime. The flies are such annoying pets. It is the same thing cows must put up with - darned old flies. You bring up an excellent point with this contest entry. Best of luck.

Hate it when a horsefly(who love bovines, too) decides to snack on a handy homo sapiens. Hate it worse, trying to milk and taking a flyswatting tail upside my head. Don't miss farming a bit. Excellent cow/fly two-species
5/7/5.

Them some strange looking cows!

However, Spring has certainly arrived when you see cows grazing in a pasture somewhere and beating off the flies with their tails.

Should be a good contest entry.

You followed the rules perfectly and captured the spirit of the contest incredibly well. All true; all just right; all exactly as it should be. This is a great 5-7-5. I wish you luck. I'm not sure others will be able to meld the two animals together so well. You may have this one sown up! Good luck to you. Great job.

Dreams fill the poem
Winter has not lost its storms
Spring will come soon
The cows to shed the coats true

Nice picture that shows
The cows know the season told
While dreams of green grass begins
The need of heavy coats blend

Having grown up on a farm, I have vivid memories of our cows grazing in the meadows. May you have the best of luck in the contest. Patricia
