whispers reach me, just echo's of a promise

Of all the beauty you penned here, this line found my heart. It is sadly what I feel most days but put on a happy face. Echo's of a promise, fulfilled or abandoned? I loved it.

Missy
I have read all your post and reviewed this one...All are superb.

How lovely of you to chose that line, one of my favorites. I'm touched it moved you. Thanks for stopping by. I know you are going through some things. I'm here, so don't be a stranger, Missy.
Thanks a million for this. Hugs, mike

Funny, I was just researching mermaids before coming to FS! This poem reminds me of them. If you like such things, type in 'actual mermaids' and see some really odd photos. There are a couple that if they're photoshopped, it's darn good! Lol! I really enjoyed the phrases that speak to nature and all that. My fav. Nice work as always! Susan

Hi, Susan. Mermaids, eh? Cool, I hear they breath under water. I hear they don't wear tops too, gotta admire that.
Most of my work has an undertone of mermaid life as a secondary theme. Glad you liked this one. I'll tell my mermaid girlfriend you got the subtle references. :)) mike

Another deep and careful prose, words from you like love flows like a gentle spring rain. In your poem, you express in the very good rhyme. The image compliments the love story. All the best

very nicely written. Your words fly from one to the next. You write so one pictures the images as they come. I can not think of any way you could improve the poem. It is exactly as it should be. Very nicely done.

This has so much 'meat' in it, Mikey... great imagery that just screams to be heard... like a screaming red rose... wow!
I love this part especially:

sometimes filled with clouds--
they play
they teach
they seem to reach
for somewhere
I wish to also go,

lovely!

wonderfully done! I thought it was going to be part of the Shades of Blue contest... ;)

This is a stunning poem, Mikey. I absolutely LOVE the title.

And you, you always get the girl, because you are determined which is a quality not many of us have in such great abundance as you.

Interesting as you go through the phases of flowers, dandelions, daisies, roses, and then finally blast off for the sky. Where else would one find so many shades of blue?

Excellent tempo as you reach for the clouds.

they play
they teach
they reach

for somewhere new to go. And then the resolution to return home to perfect blue, God, the Creator or true love and light.

This is a stunning poem my dear and your presentation is visually and emotionally most pleasing.

All my best to you in the contest.

Gloria

Wow. I'm stunned by your response. The risk with free verse is the very great chance that no one will be on the particular wavelength that you are on. Those blank stares are much like a comedian must endure when the jokes don't get laughs.
You do understand this fully as I intended. Well, I don't know about me getting the girl, I'm not quite that confident. Ha! But, I suppose I AM that determined though some people call it insanely stubborn.
Yes, true love and the light is the quest and what is found. It is the most beautiful thing to find.
Thanks so much. You are an astonishing free verse poet whether you think so or not. I have exquisite taste, I know quality and I love only the highest quality. This isn't in a contest unless it's the contest for your approval. A most thrilling win. :)) mike

Hi Mikey, this is a truly powerful and profound free verse poem my friend, beautifully written with a wonderful flow and rhythm which most poets on here can barely touch upon in free verse, thank you for sharing your awesome talent my friend.

Wow, Eric. That is so nice to hear, my friend. It's a risk with free verse that no one will have a clue what you're talking about. I'm just thrilled you got this and enjoyed it. YES!!!!! Thanks a million. mike

Hi, Mikey

= Adrift and absolute, indeed.
= Seems as though as we age, we want that which is illusive.
= Sometimes when we catch it--it wasn't so perfect after all--nothing what our imagination conjured up.
= Yet, we miss that which we can't quite grasp.
= Or we held it in the palm of our hand--but slips away.
= Gloomy snippets of blue find us from time to time--perhaps they mean we have lived and loved.
= Beautifully penned and simple presentation--yet a powerful impact.

* Cheers & Blessings *
