Ha, very good. Even old man Winter has a wife. I bet she is warm to his cold. Great rhyming and it was a good short tale from a second person's pov. Good idea and delivery.

The winter imagery dominates the poem with sharp, crispy, winter words. The personification makes the ending even more amusing since there is the suggestion of companionship. The rhyme and rhythm give a nice flow the narrative. well done

I enjoyed your poem. I like the refreshing 'take' on winter. Good job with the rhyme and flow. The picture is perfect. The 'better half' reference is clever.

Good job and thanks for sharing.

What a lovely rhymed poem about the winter lingering on. Here, we have an extremely mild winter if you can call it that at all. Daffodils and tulips are flowering the almond trees just stopped flowering. I liked your poem a lot. All the best. Ulla

Hi, SO clever! You took me to the last line before I knew. I really like this and will look up more of your work. What about - 'I'm his warmer other half'... (?)

with best wishes, Writeling

So what does that make you? Old Lady Winter?! You definitely sound more gentle than the cantankerous old git! Mind you, at the moment, I'm mainly complaining about the heat!

Clever rhyme and meter in your verses to get them to flow smoothly and a wonderfully strong ending in this light-hearted piece.

Well done.

Steve

I didn't know old man winter has a wife! LOL. What a playful, fun poem teasing winter and personifying it.

I live in sunny Singapore so it's sunshine the whole year round.
Thanks for writing such an enjoyable poem. The artwork fits the content well.

Thank you for your encouraging and enthusiastic review. We visited sunny Singapore several years ago. On the long, long flight there, I got to know the woman sitting next to me who was from Singapore. We became fast friends and she invited us to her home and showed us the non-touristy parts of Singapore. Loved it.

Great poem and twist
I just wish he would take his wife somewhere north like Calgary or Alberta, or better yet, Bermuda. I am tired of winter.
