In quatrains of rhyming couplets without any concern for, rhythm, meter or syllable count this piece presents us with a list of merciful acts. It reminds me somewhat of the Scottish poetry of William Topaz McGonagall (March 1825[1] - 29 September 1902) in its lack of concern for meter, and simplicity of vocabulary.

This includes so many things that we need to think about and
put into action in our days. As you said it doesn't have to be
big things. Those small actions are meaningful to those
suffering.

Hello Poet,
Based on your author's notes you have met your objective well in defining and showing a shining example of the small things that can by done by anyone to show mercy for their fellow man. This is well written and has a nice rhyme scheme. Good luck in the contest.

That was a beautifully written poem, and although I am not Catholic, I agree with everything you said. As a fellow Christian, I believe that the mercy of God is mighty and powerful and should be shown through us. How else can others see the love of God? God bless you in all you do, my friend!

Would that the head of the Vatican change its POLITICAL agenda of threatening hell to those who experience the delight of sex while not having children.
In spite of the horror of overpopulation the Catholics and Muslims continue to work to out populate each other. I hope they enjoy their eternity in hell for such heinous sins.
As for you poem, a pleasure to read.

I love the Catholic way of making charts and lists. Stations of the cross, seven deadly sins, seven great virtues, the Apostle's Creed, on and on.
Once it is written, it is there for all to read. Your rhyming quatrains indeed spell out the lists of mercies well.

Hi there,
This is a very personal and deeply felt definition of mercy. the new pope is a very fine man indeed and a great ambassador for religion the world over, not just for Catholicism.
A finely written piece.
