This is not just about snow in a natural setting. Our poet drags in its grimy relationship to humanity and to the seasons. There are many sensitive details. Like all living things, snow suffers too.- Ekim777

This might be a contest winner, Tony. You seem to be writing from inside a cold, hopeless person, from the inside looking out into the frozen world. The snow drifts upon the homeless, blurring margins between their skin and the cold world.
This could be about the horrific plight of the homeless, or the plight of humans confronting mortality. Or our inability to help people, our own frozen helplessness. I may be off track, but this has a ring of the deep futility of trying to stop unfairness in the world.

Seems homeless man makes his home on cold frozen bench. What horrible fate to live on streets. Vast flowing alliteration talk it's way through poem. liberty justice

Watching snowfall from the warm confines of one's home is a delightful experience. But it is so cruel for those homeless and hapless persons who have to fight every minute for mere existence. Your poem has underscored their plight very well.

I love the snow from the inside looking out. This is a heart breaking story of those who don't have that option. You have created a haunting poem of the homeless that we so often ignore.

Well done and good luck in the contest.

Blessings
Janet

Snow is beautiful and wonderful. But I believe for homeless people who don't have a safe and warm place to go, it can be a challenge to find the snow beautiful and wonderful.

Winter seems cruel when you think of the homeless who suffer and often die in the grip of winter storms. You have penned
an image of the suffering and how they must view the weather. Well done Tony. I always enjoy your poems. xsx Nancy

Tony, it is such a treat to see the world through your discerning eye. I wondered what well where you were drawing your words from - as I didn't think your home got snow... and then I read your replies to other reviews and learned that you are in New York. Yes... that would do it. Your descriptors from the POV of a person living on the streets are perfect. One has to be a hardy soul to live like that. A life of harsh realities painted in sorrow with a sceptic's brush. Beautiful wordsmithing on your part:
a silent drift
that muffles
human margins;

For me, that about sums up the conditions for the homeless in the snow.
Rose.

It's always a pleasure to read your reviews, Rose. I hope my inspiration from The Big Apple becomes more positive during my stay. There are also squirrels in the park!

New York is a curious blend of life. You get everything that life's spectrum has to offer. The best and the worst of the human spirit and everything in between. There are indeed squirrels in the park (unless they are hibernating) and I hope you see some. I'll bet you could go Central Park and have enough material to write about 100 poems.

Snow can cover many things, only to have the warm Spring to reveal them once again. As usual, you poem is very well written. Good luck in your contest.
