I've had many sad times in my life, I'd have to say I've been the cause of a great deal of them myself. But my life, when I look back, God has graciously repaired the broken walls of my existence, and somehow turned them around miraculously I have been a very fortunate and blessed man, and I am truly grateful to Him. (my testimony as well to His grace and faithfulness) Thanks Roy!

We all have had our share of bumpy days so frequently that our poems often speak of this. You are a good man to read when we are puzzled why our mistakes and foibles trouble us for you always put them in perspective. Regards Alan

Hi, Roy
= This is such a heartfelt write.
= I believe we all have done things we regret, wish we could do over--differently.
= But, had we not gone through those trials--would we be the person we have become now?? I think not.
= I would not want to go back and repeat any of them, mind. Nay, I say!
= Such an excellent write, my friend.
* Cheers & Blessings *

Hi royowen,
This is a very poignant poem which has a main thread of defiance to be celebrated. In the first verse I wonder if you could use this line instead: 'and sung many a sad song' for the rhyme to be complete. Thanks for sharing this! R

Another great poem. The author tells of the losses he experienced, and holding on to faith was the cure.
Your poems are spitually healing to me, and this one is no exception.
So I'll not walk in tears' regret
like flotsam lost at sea,
for loss is really gain to me
from burdens I am free.
Your poetry instills hope, and sheds light.
Thank you.

Great poem Roy with good word flow, and rhyming. It tells such truth of not looking back, and shedding tears but being thankful for the burdens left behind. Good job my friend, thanks for sharing.

Hello Roy,
One of the reasons I enjoy your poetry is the traditional form you use - rhyming verse. Your rhyme and metre, as always, are spot on,, a delight to read.
I've walked this road so many times
and sung those sad, sad songs; - lovely intro lines with a Jim Reeves feel to them.
for loss is really gain to me
from burdens I am free - amen, brother! Hallelujah!
