The poem focus the gift Jesus gave to each of us.
The poem story line development those with stone hearts turned their backs on him. With grace he gave his life he paid a heavy price for my sins.
The emotion felt shame that they turned their backs on a prized rose.
The rhythm pulls the reader forward as do the words you must know the next word.
Keep on writing

Roy, this is an emotional delight. Thank you Rita.

Roy soon as I read this part of your poem-

He's shown His grace, revealed His way.
This Rose was crushed; a Lamb was slain,
His blood was shed, to cleanse my stain.

Reminds me every good Friday all our Churches in our small town folks take turns carrying the cross;
and proceed to a church, we put a red rose on the cross and each person pounds in a nail.

To remind us of Jesus suffering to forgive our sins.

Gert

Oh good grief, I almost MISSED this jewel! This one brought tears to my eyes, Roy - incredibly beautiful, a treasure to read again and again! I am already out of sixes, dear man, but I sure wish I could adorn this with a hundred stars anyway!

Roy, what a wonderful message. Yes, isn't it amazing how much
He loves us. I'm so glad God sent His Son to this earth for us.
I like that thought about us giving our life to Him as a gift.

Hi Roy:

I must have missed this poem. My message's show 112 and I keep deleting the ones I had read, but when I saw this, I still don't remember reviewing it. I think if I did, it will update it. I always love stories about Roses, but this one is so sad, especially the picture.

I was particularly touched by the lines...

" This Rose was crushed; a Lamb was slain,
His blood was shed, to cleanse my stain."

How sad, It was all I could do to stop from crying, and can imagine how felt, being the one who actually wrote it.

Blessings,
Nan:))

Very nice, Roy. There's a strong, beautiful and very valid message here, and it's conveyed in delightful language. The rhythm is consistent and pleasant. The image works well with it too.

Dear Roy,
This is yet another poem in your repertoire of wonderful poetry.
I love the reference to the rose of Sharon.
Jesus blooms within our hearts.
Nicely done,

Roy,
As many spirits up poems as you've created and shared, I'm delighted to see that you always discover new and refreshing ways to present the message. Wonderful.

Fav lines:

This Rose was crushed; a Lamb was slain,
His blood was shed, to cleanse my stain.

I have one gift; my naked will,
one life to give, one heart to fill.

Great and original interpretation. Smooth flow and rhyme with a message of faith. So interesting to see how we all see the picture.
