What a fun read this is. Each stanza kept my attention and I could just imagine what this creation would look like. The poem has the humor, original choice of words and great rhyming that makes for a fun read. Love your notes about millinery attempts. I wear hats all the time and color them with paint and put various sashes on them. Also love berets, which I crochet in various colors. Glad you're finally writing - it's such a satisfaction and use of a part of the brain that doesn't get used when doing arts & crafts (which I also love). Forget the pickling though. lol

Dear Lillia, thank you for your review and the SIX stars (awesome) I have always been a writer, whether just letters to family and/or friends or literary attempts that were shoved in a folder and hidden away . You are so right about the effect it has on the brain though. I always feel so rejuvenated after seeing my thoughts translated into words. Then to see those words actually in print is a magical moment. My quilts and crafts just don't do it for me like they used to now I am seriously into writing. BUT, when the fruit season comes around, I do gaze longingly at the empty shelves where the jams and sauces used to be, and think that perhaps if I get a free day???

You are very fortunate to have the 'arts & crafts' ability too, as well as your writing gift. In my case, I was more into arts & crafts (in a kind of sloppy way lol) and when I discovered writing late in life, it seems like a part of the brain that had been sleeping suddenly woke up and it felt great. I still do the art & craft thing, which is another part of the brain that needs nurturing. Living on the 7th floor of an urban apartment house, I have no real way to do much basic food things, but do love to bake cookies and bread (don't even buy store bought bread). Keep doing all the wonderful stuff that keeps you happy. Blessings & lots of luv, Liilia

The rhymes and meter are acceptable, limerick variations. The story is
forthright. Can't find any headgear here in the high country but ball caps, sock caps, and cowboy hats. excellent post.

I think it's awesome you made your own hat :) I would just make a mess lol. I'm not comfortable wearing hats and rarely wear them. I hooe you got lots of compliments for your hat designing skills.

Dear Joy, Thank you for your review and the five stars. I wouldn't have bothered with any headgear at the time except that it was a wedding in a Roman Catholic church, back in the days when it was considered etiquette to observe the custom of covering the head in the church. It was a hat from an OP Shop which I frizzled up with a bow and a very small bunch of artificial flowers. Did the job on the day. cheers Cass

I used to have a grey fake fur one with a matching scarf which literally was worn to shreds . NOW you've done it my man! Guess what I'm going to have next winter!! I read in your author notes about the real hat. I was going to ask if you'd made it. I see you like to quilt; so do I. I love needlework of any kind, but I've never been brave enough to make a hat. 8-)

Dear Friend, thank you for your review and the five stars. Once a quilter always a quilter, although not as devoted as I once was.
The hat was for a wedding. I was invited to unexpectedly . It was in an OP Shop looking rather sad, so I tissied it up and wore it
with an "original" frock in navy and white floral. Looked nice and I wore it to church too. cheers Cass
