This is absolutely beautiful, Sandra -
your words, rhythm and rhyme all flow
like a soft melody and are so romantic
I'm so pleased I popped in, my friend.
This was a real treat and deserving of a six.

Hi Sandra!
This is a lovely poem. You tell a sad story of love torn apart by illness (I think?). You have nice iambic flowing lines with nice abab rhyme scheme. Nice use of a closing couplet.
You brought back memories of my own wedding bouquet. I got my flowers from Fred's Japanese Flowers. He ordered my flowers in from Hawaii. We had a Valentine wedding and nothing grows in Manitoba, Canada in the middle of winter lol! I love pink roses. They're my favorite. I had stephanotis in my bouquet and baby's breath. I can still smell it. Mmmmm...

Beeeeyooootiful words arranged into a wonderful, if sad, poem. You have a knack for putting together the perfect phrase. I love that she threw the rose into the sunset sky knowing that he'd catch it.
Some punct problems but easily fixed. I will rewrite.
The bud lies gently in my trembling hand,
it once was woven in my wedding spray;
I close my eyes...I cannot understand
how could a life, so good, end in this way?

I close my eyes...I cannot understand;
how could a life, so good, end in this way?

Aww, thanks, Phyllis, I nearly got it right! LOL, just put them in the wrong place. :) Thank you so much, you are a real friend. If I could get over to you, I would give you a big hug. I'll send you a pretend one for the 6 stars! Thank you, my lovely friend. xsx Sandra xx

This is lovely, Sandra. Tender and touching. The reader doesn't know why the couple is no longer together, which prompts wondering. However, there is no doubt in sentiment. Rhyming and flow are wonderful. Marilyn

You captured this picture beautifully. Lots of emotion portrayed with the trembling hands and the tear on the lips. Very well done.
One little thing:
-a small reminder of what used be, - used to be

Lovely wording to go with that lovely image. I think it captures an ending and the confusion that often comes of such. I especially liked this bit: a small reminder of what used be, and of the love I'll always hold for you.
Well done.

Beautiful and I feel we will be reading a lot of sad love poems today. It just makes you appreciate the Happy part of Valentine's Day when love is a joyous occasion. No one wants to hear the goodbye words. Pink on the ocean as love sails away. I enjoyed this Sandra, well done.

Nicely done Sandra, It tells a story, it sings and dances which is what verse must do if it is to be worthy. Verse can be, as yours has, a method of saying things mere prose can't by lifting the words into another sphere by the music they create in the head - Music is Man's oldest votive and emotional sustenance. My only 'moan' - a personal one, is the fancy picture detracts from the words which should lift one into their own place irrespective of anything else. It is a modern 'I can do it' thing 'so it must be better if I do'! More is less! You'll find lots of lovely verse on www.thegoldenpath.co.uk Free in The Margaret Montrose Club Yours Margaret Montrose

Thank you so very much for this really amazing review, Margaret. Unfortunately, I can't do much about the picture, it is a part of the 'Picture This' group, where everyone has to find a poem in that picture. I will definitely have a look at your club. I have never heard of it, in fact, I have been on-line looking for a group to join that is all about nice poetry. Thank you for that. Again, thank you for your lovely review of this poem. :) Sandra xx

www.thegoldenpath.co.uk isn't really a 'Club' Sandra just all my writing over some 30 years - though I'm an engineer. Margaret.

I shall still go and read them, there must be quite a few over 30 years. I have a collection, but unfortunately lost many on a few house moves. xx

This is a lovely take on this lovely picture. I have the distinct feeling that we are goint to have several tears jerked this week. I am frantically reviewing to get mine out there and, hopefully not too many more reviews and I'll be there. I loved this tender hearted poem.
