Sandra,
This is a wonderful, but sad poem, that matches the artwork well.
She seems to be grieving for a friend that moved away or a spouse that has died.
Keep writing and stay healthy.
Joan

Thank you for digging this one out, Joan. It's when you bring out my older work that I sit back and read them again, too. Lol. I must write more poetry, I do enjoy it, but writing this novel takes such a lot of time. Nearly finished though! Warm hugs, my friend. :)) Sandra xxx

You're very welcome. I like digging through portfolios. I understand. I wrote two short stories and that was enough prose for me.

Hi Sandra :)
I really enjoyed your poem.
Its a beautiful interpretation of the artwork... you've really done it justice.
Perfect meter and rhyme as always and presented so prettily.
Love and best wishes, Debra :) xx

Superb, Sandra! So sad, but very beautiful. I've only read a couple of poems relating to this image (still paranoid about using the internet too much in case it runs out before the expected date!) but this is certainly the best yet. If it had been a competition, I wouldn't doubt you would have won hands down.

I hope the car is everything you hoped for, and your grandaughter is back home safely after her ordeal.

Hugs from a much more relaxed France!

Sandra, unfortunately this love and the poignancy of this love that ends will always be our great question why and the answer never comes.

This poem had me feeling sad for you because I know it comes from your love and life that you had for your husband who passed away to be with the Lord Jesus Christ.

Thank you Sandra for sharing these wonderful and private memories with us.

Love you my best friend. hugs xxxx's

This is a lovely poem to meet the picture challenge.
A poignant piece about a love that is over.
Strong rhyme and meter. Thoughts expressed
with honesty and expressive phrasing.

Your poem had almost a melody in my mind as I read it. You tell a bittersweet story of love, and if I am interpreting correctly, of the day your loved one came home and told you he was dying? I really like the idea of the tear on your lips as a metaphor for his fingertips. A beautiful interpretation of the picture.

Yes, you have it right, but it happened 30 years ago and although it's a long time, it never goes away. We had only been married 16 years and had two young sons. They have grown into fine men and given me lovely grandchildren. Thank you so much for your lovely review, Sheryl. :) Sandra xxx

It must have been the anniversary of your first husband's death? Your poem is beautifully written from the heart and full of love for love lost. Blessings my dear friend.

Hi, Sandra

= Oh, my, what a sad, yet beautiful tribute to everlasting love.
= I'm such a romantic. Gets me every time.
= This almost seems personal. Beautiful to hold that kind of love for another.
= I feel the same about Tom. I'll be lost if something happens to him.
= Virtual coming your way, my friend.
= Hope you're doing much better now, and remnants of surgery in the past.

* Cheers & Blessings *

Thank you, Jackie, I'm glad you liked this one, the picture was a delight to work with. I'm looking forward to the next one! We still have one who doesn't realize the 7 pump rule, though. I don't know how you can get it across any plainer than you already do. :( xxx Sandra

    - Honestly, I believe some just don't read what I send out.
    - I addressed the issue of the pumps. I always try to catch that as I'm reading and keep it fair for all.
    - I get emails all the time at the last minute that I haven't sent out the new jpeg. And as you know, I send it on Tuesdays after our Monday posting.
    - I try NOT to send out anymore stuff than needed so you all aren't bombarded.
    - Since we are so many now, I revised the Member Schedule too this time.
    - On the whole, everyone does well with following the guidelines. A great bunch of peeps. (*<*)

I know, I don't understand what is so hard in reading the rules and sticking to them, I think you missed this one because he posted his poem onto the actual picture itself so when it came up on the front page it has a different picture altogether! I've seen the new picture, OMG! Now that is going to be a hard one!!! I've updated my list. :) Thank you, Jackie. xx

    - I think I'm doing something different than my norm with this next one.
    - Unless I chicken out! LOL

Hmm, now that sounds interesting!! I am in a quandary as to what to write for this one. I will be giving it lots of thought. :) xx
