I have to admit I got a bit carried away with being in the top few and having a cute panda beside my name (briefly)

Once I noticed that someone who'd posted less, had way fewer reviews and fewer sixers had leapfrogged me in the ratings, I realised how futile it was. Plus, nobody knows how the calculations are done.

Ah, the never-ending pursuit of number one. Your tongue in cheek poem humorously reminds us that sometimes we become addicted to a pursuit to the detriment of everything else. Sadly enough this does occur. I don't have the time. Nice flow. The eight/six syllable pattern works well and the ABCB rhyme pattern is consistent. Very well done. Cowboy

I have just discovered that someone with fewer posts, way fewer reviews and fewer sixes as well, has leapfrogged me in the rankings, so I am officially confused as to how they are calculated. Not that I really would have had time to get to the top anyway...

I have had time to write and review and promote lately, hence the healthy ranking. Life will return to normality soon and I'll be lucky to post once a week, as opposed to once a day at the moment. So I have no illusions.... Also I am a little grumpy to discover that someone with fewer reviews and fewer sixes has leapfrogged me in the rankings - nobody has a clue how the damn things are calculated!

Oh, how I can relate - and I'm not even in the top 10 anymore. Slipped slicker than if I stepped on a banana peel. I haven't checked this morning - but yesterday I'd gone from 14 to 18 despite posting my brains out. My husband has started grumping about my extended absences in the computer room, too.
Oh well - at least I'm getting to read some great work and to commiserate with others who are in the same boat. (I got up a SIX this morning to catch up - It's now TEN and I'm still not caught up.

yes, FS can certainly eat up your time. This is the first time where it's even crossed my mind to try for a top rating. I've been laid up with a crook knee and plenty of time to spend, but it's still not enough.

I settled about #30 last year and I guess that's where I'll end up again this year.

Last year, I hung out at #70 or so. I'll probably be there again this year. Much of the rankings has to do directly with $$ spent, and the number of fans you have. The $$ go a long way to getting more fans. R.

Actually Steve it took me a couple of years and some great poets lost their place above me due to death and sickness. Gungalo and Maureen to name a couple. I didn't even care about it until one day I saw I was #25. That made me start watching them but I never aimed to be #5. I didn't dream I could! But I did. LOL It was really nice.
