Awesome poem for the 2-4-2 contest. Yes, your title perfectly matches the turtle, "ageless". They are survivors, and your last line "sea soul" is perfect to describe the timeless animal.

true enough. . . millions of species have gone extinct, but time chose to spare the evolutionary line of the sea turtle (going back to the Late Jurassic at least 110 million years ago)

Oooh what a clever little short form you've presented here. I agree you've really discovered some sea-soul balm. The turtle is such a majestic creature, so slow, yet as graceful as a swan underwater when he swims...nice to know that when you get cursed with being one of the slowest land mammals, your blessed with one of the best mobile retreats when you've done all that damned walking up the beach to lay your eggs. That's GOTTA do something for your stress levels and make it much easier to live a lot longer...also, no one has a HOPE of cracking through that thick shell style epiderm too, me thinks.
Anyway, top show, LOVED this modern day dinosaur with a husk.
