Excellent metaphorical and dramatic start to reflect time passing by us.
You say we don't know all the answers and don't even know all the questions - very good and true. Sometimes it's best to stop thinking about either, because we'll never get it all right anyway, as you imply.
Of course, we're influenced a great deal by those we mix with and even observe, and also the media which brainwashes us to a degree.
No answers from me to your very deep philosophical thoughts. I guess we SHOULD just live for the moment, and try to be kind to others, but the former is very hard to do when we're set in our ways.
Merry Christmas, Ray.

Merry Christmas right back. I have so many friends that are just "crippled" during the Christmas season. I wrote this for them and for all those that just get overwhelmed during the holidays. Thanks for your great review.

Well written story with the important message that the only real gifts are the ones you have for yourself, and share with others.
But, how many people are afraid that their gift will not measure up to the person's expectations they are giving it to?

The fear we have of what others think seems to outweigh all the good those others try to do. Like I said, we are who we are and do what we do 12 months of the year. You blessed me with your review and kind words. Mossmouse

Moral of the story asks what have we done to help someone out. Are we worthy of salvation?
Do we practice good works?liberty justice

This is a thoughtful essay with a well organized premise. We should slow down and enjoy life for what it is instead of rushing about.
Excellent summation of your argument:
We all have that moment, that one still moment when the carols and the sounds of the holiday season touch us. And that moment is for us. There is peace and serenity in that moment, a connection between the heart and mind that transcends all else and lets you remember that you are alive.
Remember that moment.
Share it with yourself always, because the gifts you give to you are the only ones you can share with others.
Excellent reminder that life passes quickly and we need to focus on what is importnt.
One small SPAG. I think you meant "the" in the following sentence.
Have we let our goals and ambitions become our lives instead of thee means to enjoy our lives?

Fixed the spag...thank you. It seems I always miss one now and then and I appreciate you catching it. Life does scream by and always seems to gather speed at the most inconvenient times. You did good! Mossmouse
