Hi Brett,
Your story is well written and is a very interesting read. I am getting tears in my eyes thinking what a wonderful thing David did to save other people's lives by giving up his own. He is quite the man. You've written it so well, that it didn't seem that long to me. It continued to hold my interest all the way through.

David McGuire--an ordinary guy who did an extraordinarily heroic thing. We still have a few such guys left. A very compelling story and you build up nicely to the point about Donaldson being his Sergeant. You might add some more details about Donaldson as he's telling David's story. The narrator, too, might interrupt more with questions or observations. Excellent war story, and we certainly wonder, like you, when the insanity is going to end. judi

First, I personally, think sometimes not eliminating information is important in describing your character. However, even though David got a bad deal out of life, he handled it better than the average person with a better beginning. This is what makes David story interesting, along with not complaining about his lack of winning or getting an even brake on life. It's sad but all of us must bare our on load. No one can carry it for you. This is David McGuire's story. Great story.

A. Great story of exactly is going on in the field of war, many stories stay untold because it hurts too much to talk about. I know someone who lost his whole pelaton and that is all he is willing to tell. The details will stay unknown, he simply won't recall what happened.
