As you lay me down
Frenzied thoughts find
Sound of mind
Undressed

Nonplussed
Impulsive
Soft pillow boisterous

Appease please
My wanderlust
Seas long drawn out
Lust
Fulfill you must

Saten sighs as faith dies
His eyes aglow offers
Unknown

So lay me down
Frenzied thoughts find
Sound of mind
Undressed

Impulsive

..... Just because your wonderful... Because your words move me ... When I read them I want to make them mine , in a small way ð???

Love how you open your poem with a children's bedtime prayer. And a Hobson's choice? Oh really, I wonder what that was?

It sounds like a mystical dream, the kind you have before you actually pass into the world of sleep.

John Lee Hooker! Yes! I haven't listened to him in a very long time.

As always you pose a thought-provoking poem my friend. I shall stop over and have another read and look at Magdalene later.

Stunning write. It washes over me like ocean waves.

Every word is a thought-provoker here, Michael.

Sure no 'blah, blah' boring padding with your writing.

So, I don't understand it all, but that's often better than reading the obvious, 'the cat sat on the mat'.

Brilliant assonance and consonance throughout this inspired quality free verse.

Best wishes, Ray.

This is a very nice song, I never heard it before, I feel sort of a calling call. The same as your words, these are my fave "empty oceans known no peace until appeased." Sweet.

I know, we need to create beauty if even within ourselves. Too much ugliness around...Love to you.

it's truly beautiful Michael...just the thought is beautiful...I'm glad it helped you relax...written in your own words...so unique...could be read two different ways...love...and religion...

now I lay me down

Hobson's choice unwound

this religion afterlife
Hobson's choice unwound

This is really quite a poem. I didn't know what Hudson's choice was and then when I looked it up, it really revealed the poem. Take it or leave it when you speak of religion is one thing. When I think of religion, I think of selecting a church that follows my believes. Take it or leave it when I think of my belief in Jesus Christ my Lord that is really another thing. The church doesn't do much for me except the Bible says to unite with other believers. But, Jesus is my everything to Hudson's choice Jesus is a very serious matter.

I didn't either...hi Joyce...-smile-..what I'm speaking of here...is the "religion" of laying ourselves down on paper or keyboard anymore. Religion ...the definition according to Merriam Webster for kids...haha..."the belief and worship of God and or gods....and for me anyway...the later is the root of all evil at least where I attended for twenty some odd years. The Church is a body of people...and people screw everything up I'm afraid...-smile-...Joyce I'm sure there are "bodies of believers" who worship and honor in true Spirit...but that certainly wasn't the case in a small.."thank God...Baptist bunch...I once knew. I hope you find what you look for. but true religion begins in the heart and soul of the individual. Yes indeed...serious matter of fact for all. love Michael

Your animated artwork selection is mesmerizing. As usual, I enjoyed your references--this time the "Hobson's choice" along with all your echoing "ound" and "ust" sounds. Big hugs and happy, upcoming weekend- Joan

Intrigying! Makes the reader wonder if the character dies. Is this his or her last testimant. His wild free personification is breath taking and suspenseful.liberty justice

A Hobson's choice is a free choice in which only one option is actually offered...

So you have only one choice, but it's a free one, is it?
Since all your poems seem to intertwine a sensual/sexual undertone and also
a religious one... I'm never quite sure which choice you'll be offering OR the one you'll be choosing either... ;)
But, since it's free... I suppose I know which one I'd choose.. .and we all have to choose for ourselves...

;)
Well done Sweet one... well done. Always, your words are quite lilting, lovely and just plain sublime...

Ever see the Divine Miss M do her Mermaid skit onstage? When she gets out of her wheelchair, struts around with her mermaid fin, if you can imagine, sways this way and that and says, "The question before us... is where's the clitoris?"
(that's what your lady coming out of the book reminds me of) ;) lol

lol

Hey you...-smile-...yep no choice at all. ...really all my poems...? why...why thank you Cat...but why would it be either or anyway...when were all both. In my sense of what you mean by religion...but my religion is not dressing up once a week to socialize with liked minded folk, listen to the Word of God and forget about it over lunch. but an everyday awareness that my sojourn is mapped...recorded if you will, both in the individual soul and the whole of heaven and One most worthy Host. Who by the way created us as sensual beings. I'm not advocating immorality gone crazy just honesty.

Divine Miss M...yes yes I did ...I was married to her I'm afraid. oh shes working the stage in a wheelchair these days huh...? yep,I told her there'd be consequences. the clitoris...? hmm...wwell the clitorus Cat is a very special part of the female anatomy...as well you know, according to your recent release about ...ah ya know....your secret desire and stuff all kinda shouldn't go there...are you trying to work me up Cat. When you wind up the top...sooner or later ya gotta let it go ya know....ah haha...good night Dream Kitty. love Michael
