Most weight loss routines are if it tastes good spit it out. Weight is something that has been a lifelong problem for me. I am at a point now where I pretty much stay within 5 pounds. Patricia

Oh, Patricia don't worry, weight gain is normal for us, the middle age generation LOL. I seldom eat rice for five years now, although it is our staple food, my chicken is always skinless, to avoid getting fat. Thanks again for the sterling stars. God bless. Susan

Hi Susan,
A lot said in one line! It is witty, truthful and profound. How much more could you pack into one short line?
It's a constant struggle for most folks. I am fortunate it is not a struggle I must endure (5'10" - 165 pounds). But I know many who do. It's really tough.
Great job! God Bless ...

Good to hear that Alan. I seldom eat rice for five years now, even though it is our staple food. My chicken has always been skinless, to avoid getting fat. When you are in your middle age, maintaining a trim figure entails a lot of sacrifice. Thanks a lot for the excellent stars. God bless. Susan

Hi Susan ...
I am well past middle-age ... almost 70 years old. But I have never been heavy. 180 pounds is the most I've ever weighted, which is just a slight bit above my ideal weight. For the past 20 years or so, I have weighed between 165 and 175. At 5'10", that's pretty good!
I've never liked rice. So, that's not a problem for me!
wishing you the very best, my friend ...

LOL. Picture and poem are a perfect match. For a one liner you said it like it is. The key word here is routine which in other words is a habit. Addiction, one of man's worst enemies. Well written. Les

Good day to you, Susan
When I once weighed 243 pounds (at 5'8" in height I was extremely overweight!) a little over a year after my stint was up in the Marine Corps, I had a woman in a gym I was working out in to lose the weight (I now weigh 160) tell me, "I simply can't continue this rigorous workout regimen. It makes me terribly hungry!"
How's THAT for irony, lol?
This was the first thought that immediately popped into my head after reading your cleverly worded monostitch.
Good work~Dean :)

Hi nassus1957,
This is certainly a humorous take on the issue of weight loss and its attendant inconsistencies. Thank for introducing this form and sharing it with us! R

This is a good contest entry. Some people really struggle with their weight. Fat babies become fat adults. It's such a difficult thing to change. And then some people just eat badly!

A wise poem of the futility of exercising with a routine in order to lose weight while retaining a passion for food. Well thought out and wise words of advice to those of us that struggle with this never ending struggle of weight loss!

A very clever write and oh so true, I try to keep a steady weight and fail miserably, though I'm 2 stone lighter than my heaviest weight. My philosophy is that I'm the right weight, I'm just 10" too short in height :)
Bless you
John

It is so sad that many dieting plans fail. It is a very witty short poem.
It is very difficult to write such a short poem, yet conveying a great meaning and some fun too. Thank you for sharing
