Nice couplet comparing a politician with a woman that too a widow. Politicians hear themselves only despite what ever happening. A cool poem lovable to read aloud

Hi victortouche
This is a brilliant expose of what politics is and how far it is from Truth. If something is not Truth, then it is a lie but we still somehow find it hard to think of politicians as liars. Perhaps its because we are all liars anyway. No man or woman has ever revealed his true self to all. Thanks for sharong this thought provoking poem. It's inspired me to pen one on this theme too! R

Reads poetry, and a physicist at that. Well, I am impressed, R. And thanks for the review. Doug

I might change taverns or demand to change the channel away from Fox!
A fine poem in couplet form which is a form I have recently embraced.
Your reference to Dylan is duly noted. I agree with your assessment of both
the candidates and the condition that allows them to exist. Nice work. -Bill

Pretty high praise, and from someone I respect. Doesn't get any better for me. :)

Victor, if you have a moment, would you consider reviewing a short story that I just re-activated? It's called, "As Far As." Thanks, Bill

Hi Bill.
I have not been here for a while.
I feel guilty not to respond more
often to you. Somehow, I feel an
innate trust/attachment to you.
I will look at your short story.
Doug
PS-Another surgery for me. Third in six years. Sheesh, I haven't sinned all that much. Well...

Doug, I sent you a personal message. Glad to hear from you. I will wait for your response so that I can offer the help you have asked for. =Bill

Growing up in the sixties I was very fond of two songs of Dylon's, and still consider them useful for this day, "Masters of war" and "with God on our side" they were brilliant. Well done with your endemic nature of the politician that can still afflict our perceptions today. Articulate and pointed in its thrust, well done, blessings, Roy

Very beautiful art work that you chose for this writing. Loved the ongoing same sound rhyming. Great job.
And...just so happens, by the way,
to be where I drink my beer. [love the last line.]

An interesting poem comparing a politician to an unmarried woman and their role upon society as the nation watches in fear. Well written on an interesting topic with well flowing words!

Unfortunately I am not familiar with this particular Dylan number, so I cannot comment on any comparisons that there may be. Regardless of that however it seems to me that this stands alone quite happily as a one off in its own right.

In this greed-riddled society anything is possible. Nothing has changed since Dylan's times, still lots to protest about. Well chosen imagery and words. Faye
